Last week, I was sat doing a little bit of analysis on my blog. I could not believe that I have never written a review on the Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer. This is an item that I have been using now for the best part of a decade and I could swear that once upon a time I sat down to talk though this item and let you guys know some of the reasons why I love this so much and hold it in high regard. It is actually crazy to think that I have had this item in my collection for the best part of a decade, maybe even longer at this stage. I feel like if you are an avid makeup lover like myself, this is an item that you have to try out. Before I ramble on anymore.
The coverage.
The first thing that I am going to chat about in this blog post is the level of coverage that this Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer produces. I have dark areas underneath my eyes, that need concealing throughout the day or I actually think that people would think that I am a member of the undead. I would say that as you apply this Maybelline Concealer, straight from the item, you are going to get a medium level of coverage after you blend it out using a Beauty Blender. What I like to do, and it is a tip from Jacki Aina, is to leave the concealer sat on your face for a couple of minutes. Then when you go to blend it, there will be a higher level of pigmentation. That helps it to cover my horrendous darkness!

The shade range.
One thing that I need to mention early in place in this blog post has to be the shade range. I can remember when I first tried this out approximately a decade ago. I think on the stand in Superdrug where I first picked it up, there was around 5 shades and even the deepest one at the time, was still lighter than my natural skintone. It was horrendous. Nowadays, there is a vast range of shades available for this product and all of them are truly fantastic. I think that they could still look to adding some more deeper shades with different undertones, but I think that they are branching out and trying to achieve what their customers are looking for.
Â
How it lasts.
Something that is super important to me when it comes to any base product is how it lasts on the skin. At the moment, I am working really ridiculous hours and I am out of the hours for 12 hours most days after working and then caring for my nan, so I need my makeup to last flawlessly for that entire time. I know that 12 hours, especially on an oily person is a big ask, but I know other products that are able to do it, so that is what I have come to expect with other products that I sue too. I have to say that this Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer does last flawlessly for my entire day out of the house.Â
Â
How it works with other products.
Something that I always speak about in beauty reviews, especially when it comes to base products is how the item pairs with other products that I use. Such as, I don’t want this to react badly to my go to face powder, the foundations that I use or my favourite moisturisers. Over the years, I have really put this Maybelline concealer through the ringer and I have tried it with so many of my favourite items and I can safely say that I have never had an issue with how this applies. It always go on the skin incredibly flawlessly and it is in place all day, regardless of which other products have decided to use that day. Which is great for a drugstore product because some of the high end products even struggle with matching up with so many other items that I have.
I hope that you guys liked reading this blog post and getting to learn a little more about this item. Like I mentioned, I have been using this product for many years at this stage. I always like to have one of these in my collection for those days where I just want something super easy, quick and reliable. Not to mention that everything about this concealer is a positive in my eyes from the great shade range, which they continue to expand, how it applies with the sponge tip, how flawlessly it blends out and the staying power on the skin. Overall this is a truly beautiful concealer and I think that more people need to go ahead and pick this up for themselves!
