It is time for a new beauty review here on my blog. This time I am going to speak to you guys about one of my all-time favourite foundations. That is the Cover FX Total Cover Crème Foundation. This was actually a brand which I had always given a wide berth. I thought I thought that their items looked pretty boring. I didn’t hear much about them online, that was until I saw their Crème Contouring Kit.

This was an item that really spoke to me. It was all about the highlighting and sculpting kind of life. Every single shade in that palette was just perfection to me. After I finished with that compact palette, I decided to just go ahead and buy the full-size foundations so that they would last me so much longer.

The coverage.

I guess with a name like ‘Total Cover’, you may think that this Cover FX Creme Foundation is full coverage. Honestly, I would actually say that this is much more of a medium and buildable foundation. If I take my paddle foundation brush, with one layer of this product you will still see my freckles and areas of pigmentation damage. It can easily be built up by adding just another thin layer on top. I know that for some people who like full coverage through and through. This will not be enough, but I think that it really gives the user the ability to tailor their foundation. Personally, I think that is something truly fantastic. I always look forward to using it and seeing the transformation take place when I am applying my base makeup!

 

The consistency.

As it suggests in the name, this is a creamy foundation. I have used other crème foundations over the years that are in pans of products similar to this one, but they have always been a much harder texture than this. You can tell with this Cover FX product as soon as you dip your brush into it, or dab your sponge that this is a super creamy foundation which is easy to work with, apply to the skin and blend out so that it looks like perfection on the skin. I will round this up by saying that it is so creamy that it blends out incredibly easily, but not so creamy that it slips around on the skin and disrupts any other products which you may have underneath, or that you may be laying on top.

 

The staying power.

I get that you guys are probably quite sick of me saying this by this point in time, but I need my makeup to last me all day long, especially my base products. I sit down and apply my makeup at around 6am every single morning and I still need that to be in place at 9pm when I am standing in my bathroom removing my makeup. Honestly, I don’t mind touching up my face throughout the day with a little powder here and there, but generally, I want my makeup to be high-performing and I don’t want to worry about it for the entire day. I feel like I have this nailed with my method of application and I know that when it comes to this Cover FX product, I have absolutely nothing to worry about because it stays put and looks great all day!

 

How it looks on the skin.

How a product looks and sits on the skin is something that is super important to me. You don’t ever want to make an effort with your makeup, for it to break down throughout the day and it looks like you have not done your makeup properly. For me, I use this Cover FX Total Cover Crème Foundation on a near enough daily basis and I think that this always looks incredible on the skin. It feel like it helps to hide my pores, and it works well with my other products such as concealer, contour and powder. Not to mention that I feel like this is one of those base products that looks better and better throughout the day. As my natural oils start to work their way through my makeup, I feel like this foundation just helps to give me a glow.

 

How it performs with other products.

Something else that I always consider when it comes to any base product is how it performs in relation to the other base items that I adore. For me, I use this crème foundation pretty much every single day, even on top of a liquid foundation. I do this because I find the colour of this Cover FX foundation to be so perfect, that when I go in with just a tiny amount over any other foundation, it improves the colour and ensures that it has the right undertones that I want for me and my complexion. I have also used this with pretty much every other item that I had and I just adore it because it always sits amazingly, blends like a dream and doesn’t cause other products to move or not do their job as effectively.

 

It is pretty clear to you guys by now that this is a product that I truly love. I do not want to be without this item. My fear is that they are now removing this from their range. I love everything about this Cover FX Creme Foundation. The shade is beautiful. It sits on my skin well all day. Plus, it is one of the items that look better as the days go on. I am actually finding this pretty hard to get here in the UK. I am hoping that I can still get it easily enough on the Cover FX website directly from the States!
