My Iconic Gucci Marmont Handbag

 

 

It is time for a new fashion blog pot. Today, it is going to be all about my Gucci Marmon handbag.  I have mentioned this Gucci handbag here on my blog before. A couple of years back, I bought this item and I was madly in love with it. It was one of the first designer items that I have ever bought and I couldn’t believe that I had got something so expensive. Now, we are years down the line and I wanted to write a review on this Gucci Marmont. I want to share with you guys my thoughts on the item. How I use it. If I would still purchase it and so much more. Without further ado, here is my review on my Gucci Marmont handbag.

 

Why I wanted this bag?

As I mentioned earlier in this blog post, this really was an ‘it’ bag. I think it was in around 2018, you couldn’t unlock your phone without seeing this. Every single blogger in the world was wearing it. Naturally, I was sucked in by influencer marketing and I wanted to buy it. Before this was released, I wanted the Chanel Double Flap Bag in black, but I knew that was a long way off. Instead, I wanted another designer black bag that would fill the flap bag shape hole in my heart.

 

The size of the bag?

Now, I want to touch on the size of this bag and that is because this is huge. From the outside, this bag appears to be quite a medium size handbag, but inside this is like a Tardis. I have used this so much since first buying it and I have never had to sacrifice what I am putting inside. It is absolutely enormous, and I love that. I personally just see it as that I have got more for my money. Plus, it makes it much more versatile for when I am out and about and I can wear it much more often.

 

The texture of the bag?

When I had my mind set on buying a Gucci Marmont handbag, I had to decide which one. Black was the obvious thing because it was so classic. However, I had to choose between the leather and the velvet. After seeing the handbag in person before I purchased, I decided to go with the velvet. The main reason for this was that I thought it would make it great to use in the wintertime. Plus, I didn’t love the look of the leather, it looks quite plasticy and I didn’t love that.

 

The comfort of the strap?

Something that I do think is very important to talk about in these posts is the comfort of the strap. With this handbag, it has a chain and a section of leather for the strap. Naturally, if you position the leather on your shoulder, it is pretty comfortable. However, if you were to double over the strap, you will have the chain on your shoulder. As you weigh down the bag by filling it with all of your personal items, it can make it very uncomfortable if you have the chain baring weight on you.

 

The branding and appearance?

As I am sure you will know, Gucci has been really up and down over the years. Around the time that this handbag came out, Gucci were riding high. Their accessories wouldn’t stay on the shelves for long because of the influencer effect. As the years went by, Gucci began to decline a little. No longer do Gucci come out with items and people jump through hoops to get them. Even though I do still like the branding of Gucci, I personally am not a massive fan of it like I once was. It lacks the timeless branding that I look for.

 

Would I repurchase?

I think that the crooks of this post means that I would not repurchase this Gucci handbag. In the moment, I loved it. I feel like my Gucci Marmont handbag really defines a point in my life, but I am past that now. The aesthetic that I want to portray nowadays is more Chanel and Dior, as opposed to Gucci. That is nothing negative against Gucci as a whole, more about my style as a whole and how it has evolved. I will keep this item because of what it represents to me. There was a point in my life where I couldn’t believe that I owned this stunning item.

 

As you can see, there is a special place in my heart for my Gucci Marmont handbag. It has been with me through a lot since I first bought it. Even though I don’t think that I will use this half as much as I have done in the past, I will keep it in my collection. Honestly, when I say that it was a pinch me moment, that is putting it mildly. I couldn’t believe that I was able to spend this much money on a Gucci item. Now, I would save my money and go for something like a Chanel Double Flap Bag, but I can still appreciate the Gucci for what it is. As always, I will pop a link to this item below.
