It is time for a new beauty blog post, and this is going to be all about my favourite makeup brushes. I am sure that every single makeup lover out there has a brush collection similar to mine. When I was doing my qualification in makeup, all I would ever hear is that you need to invest in the tools.

At the end of the day, a workman is only as good as his tools. That being said, I now have a collection that can rival the shelves at Boots. I thought that for today’s post, I would share the best of the best. These are the items that I love, use and would recommend. When I first sat down to write this post, I really tried to speak about all different kinds. But I stayed true to form and stuck with brushes for base makeup!

It Cosmetics Double Brush.

This is my latest addition to my makeup brush collection. I have to say that it has quickly became one of my favourites. Not going to lie, I do only use the larger side for foundation. I have never so much as glanced at the opposite smaller side. For me, this is the perfect size for me to work in my foundation. I even have three of these now because I use them for everything. I use one for my liquid foundations, another for cream foundations and then the third for cream contouring products.

Tom Ford Bronzer Brush.

I can remember many moons ago when I bought this brush, I felt stupid because of the price tag. It cost me so much money, I instantly regret ordering it. That was until it arrived with me, then I changed my tune. I love that this is a huge brush that gets my bronzing powder on and in place in no time at all. Plus, because the shape is not quite round, it allows you to really lay the product where you need it. I have had this for going on 4 years now and it is still amazing quality.

Morphe M439 Brush.

I have been using this foundation brush forever and a day and I am not planning on quitting. What I love about this makeup brush is that because it is so big and dense, it works makeup in so quickly. Using this item, my foundation looks flawless within a matter of seconds. I genuinely mean that, by 30 seconds in, my full coverage is in place and looking amazing. The price of this brush is only around £13 and for that kind of money, I don’t think that you can go wrong!

La Mer Powder Brush.

Every now and again, I like to treat myself to a fancy makeup brush. That is the exact reason why I bought the La Mer Powder brush. For the longest time I was using a Real Techniques Powder brush, but I ruined that. I think that I had used it for that long, it no longer applied the powder, it just scrapped off my foundation. I then saw this La Mer brush on the Harrods website, and I had to check it out. This is beautiful and soft. Buffs the powder in absolutely wonderfully and I love how it makes my base look!

Hourglass Double Brush.

For such a long time I wanted to pick this brush up, but it just seemed so expensive. I never had any qualms about the quality. Everything that I have ever had from Hourglass has been amazing. The other thing that did concern me is that I didn’t know how to store this. I didn’t want to put it in my brush pots because then one end of it would get messed up. Anyway, I went ahead and tried this out and I am in love. I use this brush for two things, overall powder and bronzing.

Morphe M527 Brush.

The last brush that I am going to mention in this blog post is the Morphe M527. This is a great little brush that I have been using and abusing for a very long time. The thing that I really adore about this is that it is ideal for powder contouring. This Morphe brush paired with the Dior Contour palette is a match made in heaven. The shape of the brush means that it is precise enough to settle under the cheekbones. While still been large enough to bronze in other areas with no issues. Not to mention that it is wonderful and cheap.

I hope that you guys liked this blog post all about my favourite makeup brushes. I know that most of the products in this post, you will have heard me talk about them previously. However, that just really goes to show how much I love and use these items. With all of these items, I can create a long lasting and perfected base. Now that I have these key items, I honestly don’t feel the need to buy any new brushes. Certainly not for a long time anyway. As always, I will pop some links to these items below if you would like to check them out. Please do leave me a comment below. Let me know what some of your favourite makeup brushes are and I may check them out for myself!
