my dior collection - main

This blog post is going to be dedicated to all things Dior. Ever since I was a little girl, I have been in love with Dior as a brand. Back in the nineties, it was all about the classic monogramme and I fell in love with it. The first time I ever actually saw a Dior handbag in the flesh, I think I was around 7 or so. My aunty owned the classic Saddle Bag, and I was head over heels in love with it. As I grew up, my obsession grew and once I started earning money, my collection grew too. In this post, I am going to be letting you know about some of the Dior items in my every growing collection. Plus, some of the reason why I love them so much. Here is my Dior collection…

Dior Suede Black Boots

To start of my Dior collection, I need to speak about my black suede boots. Many years ago, I was browsing through Instagram and I saw that Elle Ferguson had uploaded a picture. It was of nothing more than the shoes on her feet, but I was in love. It was of a pair of high heeled black suede boots. They gathered slightly at the top of the boot to give a paper bag style and I was hooked. I clicked through onto them and quickly saw that they were Dior and cost a small fortune. At the time, I couldn’t afford them, but almost 10 years later I was just browsing through second-hand designer stores, and I saw one pair in my size. I snapped them up and the rest is history. My favourite shoes in the entire world!

Dior Monogramme Book Tote

When they first released the Dior Book Tote, it had to be added to my Dior collection. I pretty much lost my mind when I saw this item. It was everything that I was looking for in a handbag. Basically, when I head out to work, I need something big enough for my laptop, food, phone, makeup bag, etc. This bag can handle all of that, while retaining its shape and looking phenomenal. I have had mine now for around 4 years and I still adore it just as much as the very first day when I picked it up. I can remember feeling cautious to spend so much on a canvas bag, but it is worth it.

Dior Saddle Bags

I have already mentioned the Dior Saddle bag in this post and that is because I adore the style. When I was younger, I started reading Vogue when I was around 7 years old. At that time in the late nineties, the Saddle was everywhere. When it made its resurgence, I had money in my pocket, and I knew that it had to be mine. I now have three different ones. I have the classic black and gold, the pink velvet and the classic monogramme. I love them all, use them constantly and I will never tire of them. Plus, because I get the large version, I can fit loads inside and really get my money’s worth out of them.

Dior Slingbacks

These Dior Slingbacks came out after the Chanel Slingbacks. I tried to tell myself that because I had the Chanel Slingbacks that I didn’t need another similar pair, but I absolutely did. I bought these and I have worn them half to death. I have even contemplated buying a second pair as a backup because I love everything about them. Whether it is for work or social, these are the best shoes for so many outfits. My current go to is wearing these with some leather trousers and a simple boyfriend t-shirt. Comfortable and a great heel height. I would absolutely recommend these because they are integral to my Dior collection.

Dior Lady Dior

The Dior Lady was never a handbag that I thought that I would purchase. However, I then saw the mini version. I reckon it was in around 2019 I saw the Mini Lady Dior in Pink Suede. They featured it on their Instagram for only a moment and within minutes I was on their website buying it. I don’t make impulse purchases very often, but I knew that I wanted that in my collection. I haven’t looked back since. It is my go-to small summer handbag. I do have my eye on one of the larger special ones, where they do astronomy prints. They are just a little out of my price range for now though!

Dior Belt

If I ever need a belt to sinch in my outfit, I without a doubt reach for my Dior belt. I picked this up around the time when the GG Gucci belt was having its moment. Without a shadow of a doubt, I knew that the Gucci would go out of style. That is why I opted to pay a little more and go with the Dior. I wear this more than I care to mention, and I always love how it transforms an outfit. It is naturally high quality and has discreet enough branding for me to get away with wearing it daily!

There you have it, my Dior collection. I have been purchasing key items from this brand for almost a decade now and I still love them all. The Dior Saddle really is a prime example about how fashions come back around and that they are truly timeless. Whenever I carry one of my Dior items, I get so many compliments on them, and I am bawled over by the adoration for them. I feel like some people are either hardcore Dior or hardcore Chanel, I feel like I certainly sit more on the Dior side of the fence. I would love to hear from you guys. Is Dior a classic brand for you? Is there anything from Dior that you would like to pick up for yourself?
