With this pregnancy flying along, it was time to choose our pram and travel system. Obviously, I am excited for every single element of this pregnancy, but this was a standout moment for me. As long as I can remember, I have loved pushing babies in prams.

I can remember being younger and I would spend hours walking my baby cousins around the small village where we lived. My toy baby Anabelle constantly lived in the little pram that I begged for and I would play with it constantly. So, this was a big day and a little daunting. After wanting and dreaming of this for so long, I was going to go and buy the pram for my own little baby.

What pram and travel system we went for.

The pram/travel system that we went for was the Nuna Mixx travel system. It took hell of a lot for us to decide on this pram. Which is why in this post I am going to delve into all of the reasons why this was the item that we decided would be our go to pram for the next year or two of our lives!

The elements of this travel system.

Included in this travel system you get the base of the stroller, the basinet, a seated insert, the car seat, ISOfix base and all of the adaptors, bags, etc. Out of all of the different travel systems that I saw, this is by far the most complete collection of items. So many of the other brands include the key items, but the additional items always tend to be more expensive. On top of an already expensive pram. This seemed to include everything that we could need.

What put me off this travel system.

This may sound ridiculous. But even though this was without a doubt the perfect pram for us, there was something that put me off. That was the brand name. I absolutely despise the brand name, Ikkle Bubba. It just makes the brand sound incredibly cheap and nasty. For a while I genuinely put off from buying this because of the brand name even though I knew that was crazy. I just wish that it was a different brand name that wasn’t to in your face childish and the logo wasn’t emblazoned on every aspect.

What we were looking for.

The main thing that we were looking for with a pram was a full travel system. I wanted one device that would work as the car seat and the pram. To be honest, I think this is a fairly standard thing now, but it was imperative so that we can have a base in our cars and be able to switch easily between each the two. I also needed it to have a deep and waterproof basket underneath that we can use for storage and for bags.

How it folds down in my car.

One of the biggest things that I wanted to think about was the fold down space. Because I want to do hell of a lot of different things, the pram will be in and out of my car quite a lot. To begin with, I had a Range Rover Evoque, but it felt far too small, so I upgraded to a new Audi Q5 which has more boot space. One of best things about this pram is how easy it is to fold up. You are easily able to do it with one hand. Then it folds up very small, much smaller than the other travel systems that I initially saw online.

The cost.

This pram set us back £1,200. Which is a lot of money. However, when I think about it in comparison to some of the other brands, it is incredibly reasonable. To begin with I was looking at the likes of Mamas and Papas, Cybex and many more. They were all so incredibly expensive which seems unnecessary when it will get used for a short amount of time. Plus, the reviews were much more positive on this than any other (more expensive) alternative that I was looking at initially.

I hope that you guys enjoyed this post and learning about our new pram. It is scary to think that in just a few short weeks our amazing little baby will be here. I hope that we manage to get out of the house hell of a lot and really put this through its paces. Ultimately, I want to be confident that we have got more than out money’s worth out of this item. As always, I will try to add a link to this item below in case you do want to check it out for yourself. I would love to hear from you guys on this. How did you pick your travel system and what kind of set up did you go for?
