I feel like I have now been pregnant for 3,000 years. Thankfully the end is in sight and I am ready to say hello to my baby and goodbye to this bump. But because of what seemed to be the longest gestation period ever, I have been able to cultivate a list of essential pregnancy must haves. These are the products that have made me a little more comfortable and happy throughout the last 8 months. Especially while I have been growing outwards and getting heavier by the day. However, I do want to preface this by saying that you don’t need these products. You only need the basics to have a positive and healthy pregnancy. These are all luxury extras that are in no way, shape or form required.
Sleeping pillow.
When I saw pregnancy pillows online prior to my pregnancy, I thought they were insane. In my mind they were over the top, far too big and ridiculous. Then my husband bought me one as a present. To begin with, I tried to say it was just impractical because of the crazy size. As soon as I entered the third trimester, it became an essential!

Summer Friday Belly Balm.
I was nervous initially about stretch marks, but then I realised that it was the health of the baby that was important, nothing else. However, when my bump began to pop around the 26 week mark, the skin on my stomach started to get tight and itchy as it stretched. After looking online at other people’s pregnancy must haves, I picked up this belly balm. It leaves my skin incredibly soft, moisture and thankfully stretchmark free.
Â
Belly Band Support.
My bump is now fully popping, and that sucker is heavy as hell. I still cannot believe that my body is able to lug around this baby. However, it does come with a price. My back literally feels like it is broken half of the time. My sister was the one that told me to get a belly band because it was one of her pregnancy must haves. I got mine from Amazon and I wear it most evenings. You must try this out if you are pregnant!
Â
Ginger Nut Biscuits.
If you have had any form of morning sickness, you will know why these are one of my pregnancies must haves. For a long time in the beginning months, these biscuits were the only thing I could stomach. To a certain degree, they were the only thing that my baby was growing from. I now keep a small packet of them in my handbag, for days where the nausea gets a little much.
Â
Adanola Leggings.
When I outgrew my normal wardrobe, I had a choice to make. Do I go ahead and buy the dreaded maternity wear? Or do I alter my current wardrobe. I decided to go with the latter. Instead, all of my outfits centered around what I could pair with my comfortable yet tight, Adanola Leggings. Thankfully, I have around 3 black pairs of these and in the late stages I have worn them on rotation!
Â
Pregnancy Apps.
When you wake up in a morning, especially before the bump, it is hard to comprehend what is happening. There were days that I woke up and I had to wonder what was happening inside. That is where the apps came in really handy. Before I could see our little guy moving around, it was comforting to look at an app, see that they were only the size of a blueberry. The small changes warm my heart to see and that is why it is one of my pregnancy must haves.
Â
The Vampire Diaries.
During this uncertain period of my life, I have wanted familiarity. That for me comes in the form of Damon Salvatore. I could watch that guy murder people left, right and center and it will always make me happy. I’ve always been a sucker for a love story and there is nothing better than the cliché three-way romance between Damon, Elena and Stefan. This show has seen me most of my pregnancy and I am hooked!
Â
My Martha.
They try to say that dogs are silly, especially Golden Retrievers. However, that isn’t the case with my beautiful Martha. This dog 100% knows that I am growing her future sibling and she has been glued to me since the day I became fertilized. She has been my shadow, emotional support and so much more. I am incredibly fortunate to have a dog like Martha.
