This is going to be a post all about the highly popular Elemis Pro Cleansing Balm. I have said it before and I will say it again, I am rubbish when it comes to skincare. I have always thought of skincare as an invisible waste of money. You cannot actually see it on your skin, so I didn’t see the point in purchasing it. Granted, as a woman that is now almost 30, I realise the massive benefits of having a good skincare routine.
That is where the Elemis Pro Cleansing Balm comes into play. I bought this as the first step of an intended skincare routine. For this post, I am going to share with you my thoughts and if I think it is worth it or not.
Â
Â
Why I wanted this item.
As I mentioned above, the main reason why I wanted this product was because I needed to improve my skincare game. For such a long time I was removing my makeup with nothing more than a Simple wipe. Which isn’t good enough when you wear makeup for six days of the week. This Elemis Cleanser was the first step in me implementing a new positive routine where I take my makeup off properly. From adding this Elemis product into my daily routine, I now have a great skincare routine and amazing looking skin. If I do say so myself!
Â
How I use this product.
Before I use this product, I will simply dash my hands under the sink and tap that moisture over the makeup on my face. Then, I will take out a very small amount of the Elemis Pro Cleansing Balm. For me, I never go in with more than enough to cover the end of my fingertip. I warm it up in my hands for a quick second to get the product nice and emollient. Then, I will work in circular motions buffing that into my skin. You can see within an instant that the makeup is lifting. Then, I take my damp Face Halo and wipe the remnants away.
Â
How it removes my makeup.
As I mentioned above, this Elemis Pro Cleansing Balm instantly removes my makeup. Since implementing this into my evening skincare routine, I have paired it with so many different makeup items. No matter what I have thrown at it, it has always removed the makeup. That is against the strongest and heaviest foundations, setting sprays and so much more. Sometimes I do have to use a bit more effort to remove all of my eye makeup, but it is still child’s play at the side of my Simple wipes that I used to use!
Â
How it makes my skin feel.
Since using this item, I have wondered why I left it so long to improve my skincare game. After using this, my skin feels like it is glowing and there is so much hydration. When I think about this in comparison to how the Simple wipes made me feel, it is like night and day. There is no irritation at all with this and my skin is left feeling wonderful and plump. I am also finding that on the days when I am going makeup free, my skin is much more glowing and luminous. I put that down to the Elemis Balm.
Â
How it comes to the Clinique.
A couple of years ago, I tried the Clinique alternative to this product. I think I started out with that brand simply because I could get it at Boots. The main difference that I feel with these two products is how easily it lifts the makeup up. Plus, how much of them I have to use. With the Elemis, I need no more than a pea size amount and it effortlessly lifts the makeup from my skin. With the Clinique, it is a similar principal, however I need quite a bit more. Which just means that I would burn through the product that much quicker.

I hope that you enjoyed this blog post on the Elemis Pro Cleansing Balm. As you can probably tell, I adore this item. I have been using it for months and I don’t think that I will tire of the amazing quality. When I think of this in comparison to the Clinique alternative, I think that this one takes the crown, ever so slightly. I get no irritation with this Pro Cleansing Balm, it lifts the makeup so easily and I love how glowing it makes my skin look. As always, I would love to hear from you guys on this. Please leave me a comment, let me know if you have tried this or what sort of cleaner you like to use. I will pop a link below to the Elemis Pro Cleansing Balm below if you want to check it out.
