As I am sure you guys know, I am a sucker for makeup. However, one thing that may surprise you is that I am rather behind the curve when it comes to blush. I have been all for bronzer, but blush has been left behind. I don’t know why it is, but I have been sleeping on blush for the longest time and I am only just dipping my toe into the product.
Over the years, as a much softer and more natural glam has come into focus, blush has soared in popularity. I can remember browsing beauty sites last year and being completely overwhelmed by the number of new releases. However, after trying and being rather underwhelmed by the Merit Beauty Flush Balm, I continued to give them a wide berth. That was until I saw the Makeup by Mario Soft Pop Cream Blushes.
Why I wanted this product.
As I have mentioned above, I was put off from cream blushes by using a few items that I didn’t really agree with. I found that they could be incredibly hit and miss. However, I decided that I wanted to go ahead and invest and because of that, I got my hands on this as a final test. Could the Makeup by Mario Soft Pop Cream Blushes change my opions?
The packaging.
One thing that I have always enjoyed about Makeup by Mario is the packaging. It has that simplicity of MAC. To me, that just screams that these are artistry products. They don’t need to have some all singing, all dancing packaging because the product inside can hold its own. That is a huge thing. For me, simple packaging all the way.
The shade range.
There are around 6 shades of the Makeup by Mario Soft Pop Cream Blushes available. These days, that is probably a rather limited range compared to some other brands out there, but I do think that they have a fair range so that most people can find something to suit. However, as I have just looked at Sephora, they do seem to be missing from the range some beautiful deep shades to suit the most rich of complexions. However, others will be able to comment on that with much more knowledge than myself.
The consistency.
From the very first time that I used this item, it was easy to see that it was a lovely and creamy product. I feel like with cream products in a pan, the consistency of them can be make or break. Too firm and they will be hard to work with, too waxy and they feel glossy and too slick and they will move around on the skin. With the Makeup by Mario Soft Pop Cream Blushes, it ticks all of the right boxes. Firm enough that you have control, not so slick that they feel like they will move around on the skin.
The opacity.
The main issue that I have had previously with other cream blushes is the level of opacity. I don’t want something that will apply and make me look like a clown with an overload of blush. But I do want something with a decent amount of pigment that will be easily visible on the skin. Since using this, I have felt like the balance of pigment in the product is perfect. I have never wished for more from this product, nor have I wished that it was slightly more transparent and easier to work with. Perfect down the middle.
How they blend.
Since investing in this Makeup by Mario Soft Pop Cream Blushes, I have tried to apply it in many different ways. Whether that is with my fingers, brush or sponge. You name it, I’ve tried it. No matter what I throw this item or how I try to blend it into the skin, it works flawlessly. Because of that, I continue to reach for this because it is truly easy to use and I have never had a mishap when applying this product.
How they sit.
An important thing for me when in comes to any product is how it sits on my skin throughout the day. I have shared before that I apply my makeup normally around 6am and I still want it to stand the test of time at 10pm at night. I have found since using this Makeup by Mario Soft Pop Cream Blushes, it does fade slightly through the day, but it doesn’t disrupt my other base makeup as it does. Plus, I can easily go back in and add more and it doesn’t become cakey.
How they compare to other items.
As I have mentioned throughout, I haven’t really had the best experience using cream blushes before. For me, the opacity hasn’t been there and I have found myself still needing to reach for powder items. However, that isn’t the case for this Makeup by Mario Soft Pop Cream Blushes. Since trying this, I have begun browsing around because I want to see what other amazing products are out there.
As always, I hope you guys enjoyed this post and learning more about the Makeup by Mario Soft Pop Cream Blushes. I have loved adding these to my collection and now my makeup doesn’t seem complete without reaching for this. I have a couple shades now and I know that I won’t quit until I have them all at my disposal. They are fantastic items and certainly worth the money in my opinion.
