My Dior Slingbacks

If anybody has followed my blog for some time, I am sure you already know my deep love for shoes. I am somewhat of a shoe fiend, and I own far too many of them. However, saying that, I have no plans on reducing my collection anytime soon. This post is going to be all about the wonderful Dior Slingbacks.

When these hit the influencer scene a couple of years ago, I tried to tell myself that I didn’t want them. Similar to how I did with the Chanel Slingbacks when they were first released. However, the same happened with the Dior to what happened with the Chanel. I ended up bloody buying them. However, I must say, when it comes to my Dior Slingbacks, I do not regret a thing. In this post, I am going to share why I love them so much.

 

 

Why I wanted these shoes?

I was fully influenced into picking up these shoes. Usually, I try to stay away from trends, and I saw these shoes as a fleeting trend. However, as time went on, they continued to play on my mind and I wanted to try them for myself. I didn’t go into these shoes lightly and I really considered the purchase. The more I thought about them, the more I thought about the different combinations that I could pair them with. With that, I realised that even if they were a trend for others, they were a timeless item for me.

 

How much they cost me.

The only thing that pains me about these shoes is the very high price tag. For a simple pair of shoes like these it cost me £750. Which is a very high price tag for a pair of shoes. However, I do try and put it into perspective about the amount of wear that these shoes have had and that they are the fabulous Dior brand. That aside, I feel like they were too high in price. I feel comfortable paying around £500 for heels. This is just a little too much in my opinion, but saying that, my price per wear is incredibly low.

 

The appearance.

It as the classic appearance of these Dior Slingbacks that really had me sold in the first instance. Dior really is a brand that I think of when it comes to timeless style and that is true for these shoes. A couple of years ago, I would have winced at the kitten heel on these shoes, however I feel like they have been done perfectly. They do a taller version of these heels, but I have never wished that I had them instead of the lower version. In my opinion, these are a truly timeless pair of heels.

 

The comfort level.

I always feel like when I start talking about the comfort level of heels, I need to mention that I love to wear heels. I wear them a lot and to all occasions. I was a little nervous about these Dior Slingbacks as I was conscious that the toe box is pretty pointed, but because they are fabric, there is plenty of room for movement. Also, the strap at the back of the shoe is elastic with plenty of give, meaning that your foot has enough room to breathe. Without a doubt, these are the most comfortable shoes in my collection.

 

How and when I wear them.

When I first bought my Dior Slingbacks, I thought that they would primarily be a work shoe. However, after picking them up and wearing them, I throw them on all of the time. Because I find them so comfortable, these will be my shoe of choice if I am running errands, driving, charging around the city and so much more. I think that my ideal look for these shoes is pairing them with either a ankle crop pair of trousers or jeans so that I can really show them off. Or, if it is summer, I tend to wear them with a black mini leather skirt and a simple t-shirt.

 

Am I glad I bought them?

As I am sure you can already tell with this gushing post, I adore these shoes. They have found a wonderful home in my collection and I wear them so much. If I am ever in doubt about what shoes to wear, I opt for these. Time after time, they are a hit. The only thing that I do have to be mindful of is false tan transfer on the elastic strap, but it is worth it for how stunning they look. Plus, that is nothing that can’t easily be cleaned up anyway!

 

I hope that you guys enjoyed this post and learning about my Dior Slingbacks. As I get older, I really am brining in less shoes to my collection. I am making much more careful and educated choices. I know that because I wear so much black, these chic Dior Slingbacks will pair with everything so incredibly well. When I look at the app where I record my outfits, I am up to around 200 wears of these shoes alone, which is good going when you consider how many pairs of shoes I own. They have found a home in my collection, and I am so happy to get these. I have even been considering buying a spare pair, should the day come that Dior stop producing these beauties.
