A couple of years ago, you wouldn’t have caught me dead in flat shoes. I was a heels queen and even if I was just nipping to Asda for some milk, I would have thrown on a pair of Louboutins. However, my amazing husband then opened me up to the comfort of trainers and my eyes were opened.
In todays post I am going to sit down and share with you some of my favourite flat shoes and let you know why I love them so much.
Adidas Spezial.
These were the gateway shoes that I tried that opened my eyes to the wonderful world of flat shoes. Don’t get me wrong, I had tried a few pairs of trainers before, like Vans and Converse, but none of them really stole my soul. They were ok, but never really opened my eyes to how chic and comfortable trainers could be. Out of the entire range of Adidas trainers, it is without a doubt Spezial’s that are my favourites and I avidly wear them and add new pairs into my rotation.

Chanel Ballet Flats.
Some people will agree with me on this, other people may absolutely dispute them, but I am on the side where I love them. Growing up, I was an avid ballet flat wearer. When Chanel Ballet Flats came back around a couple of years ago, I rang up my sales advisor and I was in love with them completely. Don’t get me wrong, some people think that they are overdone and a little dated, but for me, these are endgame. I love how they look, feel and I never think twice about throwing them on with countless outfits.

Gucci Loafers.
When the Gucci loafers hit the big time a few years ago, I hated them. I didn’t think that they would work for me, I thought they made peoples feet look ridiculously long and I never thought that I would spend that kind of money on them. Low and behold, here I am all of these years later and I am still completely obsessed. Nowadays, I have multiple pairs, including the controversial pair with the fur coming out of the back. In my opinion, they are timeless, chic and I will never tire of wearing them.

Birkinstock Arizona Sandals.
I never thought in a million years that I would be a Birkinstock wearer and then I went to Rome. Whilst in Rome, I was toting around the city in a pair of Hermes Oran sandals. Beautiful sandals, however, when you are walking miles and miles in a day, they don’t really do your feet much good. So, I fell into a shoe shop and tried on a pair of Birkinstock Arizona and suddenly I discovered the comfort that I had been missing.

Dior Slingbacks.
It was in the same year that Chanel and Dior came out with their iconic slingbacks. I was hooked instantly with both of them and knew that I had to pick them up. However, being a poor student at the time, I could only afford one pair after meticulous saving. I opted for the Dior and I have never looked back since. Year after year, I pull these back out of my wardrobe, and I love how they look and feel. Forever chic and without a doubt one of the best high-end pairs of shoes that I have ever purchased.
Â
Ugg Ultra Mini.
I grew up in a time when Uggs had their first moment and I bloody loved them. I loved them so much I can remember wearing them when I was flying to Barbados on holiday with my dad. No matter the weather, I was an Ugg wearer. So, when they had a revival the other year, I was at the front of the queue to add a new pair to my collection. Year after year, I buy more and adore wearing them. Depending how you wear them, they are chic, comfortable and toasty warm. True winners in my book.
As always, I hope you guys enjoyed this post and learning more about some of my favourite flat shoes. I feel like I am only just scratching the surface and there are so many flat shoes out there for me to pick up and try for myself.
