I am a sucker for movies. There are some movies that I can watch over and over again, and I will never get bored of them. I find that films like this are a comfort to me. I know that I can watch them, enjoy them and I won’t feel any anxiety about them. My husband always laughs at me because if he is out, he will text me and almost every single time, he will be able to guess what movie I am watching. I really am that predictable. These aren’t particularly amazing films in terms of deep thinkers or Oscar winners, but they make me feel good and I love watching them. So, without a doubt, here are the movies I can watch over and over again.
Jurassic Park/World.
For as girly as I may seem, I am a sucker for dinosaurs. That is the pure tomboy in me. I was only a child when the first Jurassic Park movie came out and from that day, I was hooked. In my early twenties, the Jurassic World series began to play out and I fell in love even more. Dinosaurs, combined with Chris Pratt looking sexy and sweaty running around a jungle, sign me the hell up for that!

Da Vinci Movies.
I am a sucker for history and the renaissance, which makes me love the Da Vinci books. Dan Brown didn’t write them factually accurate, and I am well aware of that, but that doesn’t diminish how much I love them. There is something so fun about watching Robert Langdon running around Paris, London, Rome and Florence. I couldn’t even begin to think about how much I must have watched the second instalment, Angels and Demons. I actually think that I could carry out a one woman show of that entire movie.
Â
Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Most of what I mention in this post will be tied to my dad in some way or another. Going to the cinema together was our thing when I was growing up. Something that we always gravitated towards was Marvel movies. I feel like I grew up watching films like Iron Man, Captain America and the Avengers movies. When Endgame came out a couple of years ago, I felt like it rounded up a decade of my life of going to the cinema with my dad. I now watch them constantly. Like some people will put Friends on in the background, I put on a Marvel movie.
Â
The Dark Knight Trilogy.
All of my life, I grew up watching the classic Batman movies with my dad. So, when Batman Begins first came out, we had to go and watch them. Even though they are thriller type movies, I still find myself watching them all of the time. More than anything, I think it is the close family connection. They make me think about moments with my dad and I adore that. It is the same reason why I still watch the really trashy older Batman movies!

How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days
Generally speaking, I’m not much of a romcom kind of girl. However, give me this movie and I am good to go. I don’t think that I have ever watched another movie in the same genre that I adored quite like I did with How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days. It is iconic and I adore everything about it. Trust me when I say, I have probably watched this movie hundreds of times over the years. Whenever the girls come over, we always stick this on!
Â
Mamma Mia.
Do I even need to explain my reasons for love for Mamma Mia? I grew up on Abba and when Mamma Mia was released, me and my dad went to the very first showing. At the time, it was before the big Mamma Mia phenomenon, and we were the only two in the screening. We were up together and singing and dancing around the theatre. It is now my true, feel-good movie. If I am feeling down, Mamma Mia. If I am sad, Mamma Mia. No matter what, I turn to Mamma Mia.
Â
Atlantis.
As a child, my feminist mum wouldn’t let me watch Disney princess movies. She didn’t want me to look up to Belle from Beauty and the Beast. Granted, I still watched them all and loved them. But my all-time favourite was Atlantis. In my opinion, this is the most underrated Disney movie in history. It is a great film. It still have the classic princess, but it also has history, action and adventure. If you have kids and you want them to watch an exciting film, make them sit down and watch Atlantis!
Â
Deadpool.
This ties into my love of superhero movies mentioned above. However, I love Deadpool because he truly is the anti-hero. I can remember watching this with my dad years ago and he turned to me and said that I was just like the Deadpool character. I am a very sarcastic, nasty and I like to believe that I am a rather funny person. I really do push being funny and harsh, hopefully I stay on the side of being respectful. But I feel like I really do align with the humour in these movies. Hence why I love them so much.
Â
Harry Potter.
This one certainly doesn’t need an introduction. Harry Potter for me was a movie franchise that I grew up with. The first movie came out when I was 7 years old and before that I would read the books with my dad. There is something incredibly special about growing older with something and it still playing a big part of my life. I can remember when I turned 12 years old crying like a little bitch because I had to go to normal state comprehensive and I hadn’t got my letter to Hogwarts.
Â
National Treasure.
Say what you want about Nicholas Cage, these movies are absolutely amazing. I think these are what got me into history as a kid. For an adventurous child, watching the National Treasure movies gave me so much whimsical excitement. Yes, I know that they are very loosely based on historical events, but it still ignited something inside me. I still pray that they will do a third movie based no the presidents book of secrets. We can only hope!
As always, I hope you guys enjoyed this post about the movies that I can watch over and over again. They are all very simple movies. None of them have changed the world, nor are they movies that got outstanding recognition, they just bring me comfort. I love nothing more than a cold winter day, under the duvet, watching these movies on repeat. As always, I would love to hear from you guys on this. Have you got any movies that you watch over and over again? Let me know in the comments below and I will go ahead and check them out for myself. I probably need to add some new movies to my collection of favourites anyway!
