Its time today for a new beauty review and I am going to be talking to you all about the Elf Camo Concealer. When I first saw this doing the rounds online, I wasn’t desperate to try it out. To me, it just seemed like yet another dupe from Elf and over the years I had tried some of the others out and I wasn’t a fan.
However, this one refused to disappear, and I knew that I was going to have to get my hands on it and finally give it a whirl for myself. Could this finally knock my beloved Tarte Shape Tape from the top spot?
Why I wanted this concealer.
As I mentioned above, this is a product that I felt like was being pushed down my throat for the longest time. In the end, I caved and had to see if this item was really worth all of the attention that it was receiving online. Whenever a product is as hyped as this one is, I need to work out if it is just online hysteria or does it really deserve the countless influencers ushering it’s name.

The shades that I use.
In this concealer, I use two different shades. The first is a true brightening shade that I use as a highlighter and concealer all in one. You know, the typical concealer shade that you would use underneath the eyes, centre of the forehead, down the nose and on the chin. Then the second shade that I own is a deeper shade for cream contouring. Out of the two, I have to say that the deeper shade of the two is the stand out product that truly blows me away.
Â
How I apply and blend this product.
For both of these items, the highlighting concealer and the deeper contour shade, I apply them in a very similar way. With the lighter shade, I use it underneath my eyes, centre of the forehead and a touch on the chin. Then when the product is in place, I take my damp beauty blender I work it into the skin. Then with the deeper shade that I use for cream contour, I apply this straight with the wand onto the typical bronzing spots on the skin and I buff it in using a dense brush. Both products, worked into the skin in different ways look fantastic and they blend within a matter of minutes.
Â
How it sits on the skin.
After using this Elf Camo Concealer for a pretty long time now, I can confidently say that I have used this on every inch of my face. I have paired it with a plethora of different products that are tried and tested. Not once since I picked up this Elf Camo Concealer have I have been disappointed with how it sat or performed on the skin. If anything, I think that this is one of those incredible items that looks better on the skin as the day goes on. A true beauty!
Â
The coverage.
Because this is at heart a concealer, the product packs a punch when it comes to coverage. I would say that straight of the bat, this is a medium to full coverage item. For when I use this as a concealer, I reckon that I get just about the right amount of coverage for what I need, especially underneath my eyes. However, when I am using the deeper shade for cream contour, I think that is where the level of coverage is really ideal for me. I have areas of hyperpigmentation on my cheeks and when I use this as a cream contour, it helps me to hide those imperfections that I am self-conscious about.
Â
How this compares to other similar products.
I am sure you know, I have tried many similar products as this Elf Camo Concealer, whether it be cream concealers or contouring products. When I think about everything within my collection, I have to say that this product comes out on top. Especially when it comes to the shade that I use for cream contouring, it is unlike anything that I have ever used before, in terms of blendability and how it sits on the skin. Because of that, it has remained a longstanding product in my collection.
As always, I hope you guys enjoyed this post and learning more about the Elf Camo Concealer. This really was a fantastic addition to my makeup collection, and I love how it looks on the skin. I am so glad that I bit the bullet and decided to go ahead and pick this up after years of turning my back to it.
