A couple eagle-eyed people out there may recognise me from my previous blog ‘Danielle Alexa’. I loved running that blog but I had reached a point in my personal life where it was no longer sustainable to run. I made the painful decision to delete my blog and regain my personal time, spend time with my family and get my head back on the right way around. Here I am, almost 6 months after deleting my blog I felt ready to jump back on the horse.
To be perfectly honest, Coronavirus spurred me on to create my new site. Normally I am running at a million miles per minute. The restrictions that COVID has caused over the past couple of months have really made me take a back step. Normally weekends would be spent running around for all of the other people in my life and as much as I honestly do not mind doing that, it has been nice to have some time to myself for me to relax completely. Being stuck in the house gave me the kick that I needed to start my blog.
I do want to start out this blog post by acknowledging how lucky I am. My family and I have made it past the terrifying peak of the Coronavirus and thankfully we are relatively unscathed. Nobody within my immediate family has contracted the virus. Even luckier is that nobody in my life has passed away from the virus, nor do I know of anybody that has lost somebody. I know that we are not all lucky enough to say that. I want people affected deeply by the virus to know that I am thinking about you. I am just hoping that if a second peak arises that we will have the same luck.
Coronavirus heavily impacted my work life for a number of months. I am fortunate that I have come out of this and still have a job. The same is not the case for everybody as redundancies are currently happening. I work for a healthcare company and primarily we supply the NHS. Around the middle of March, I worked from home for 12-14 hour days. I am so proud of what I achieved at work during this period, despite the challenges.
Now I guess, I am just trying to get back to some form of the new normal routine. I look after my Nan, so it is great to bring her to our house to give her some tea. I am back in the office at work, which has benefitted me massively because I am a creature of habit. Thankfully I am actually off work this week, so I think I am going to go to the pub and make the most of the fact that they have reopened. It was my husband’s birthday at the weekend, so we are going to go out and celebrate. I know that I will be over-cautious with everything that I do because I have to still be so careful when seeing my Nan.
I really do hope that the Coronavirus has not been too cruel to you. We can come out of the other side of this awful virus with some positivity. This has been something brand new that none of us knew how to navigate. Even though there are local lockdowns, it is beginning to seem like we are over the worst of it.
Normal life can begin to resume soon and over the next few months we will be getting into our normal routine of beauty, fashion, lifestyle and everything else.
