It is time for a chat about a foundation that I have been using and loving for many years at this stage and that is the wonderful Hourglass Veil Foundation Sticks. I can remember when these were first launched onto the market, I fell in love and I was desperate to get my hands on every single shade. I decided that I would do the grown-up thing and I waited patiently until I saw some reviews start to come in, then I realised that this was going to 100% be the foundation for me and I went ahead and bought 6 different shades from the Space NK website without any hesitation.
Needless to say, for the past couple of years now this has been a favourite foundation of mine and I don’t even want to begin to think about how much money I must have spent on these foundations!
Why I wanted this foundation?
To kick off this blog post, I thought that I would start out by letting you guys know why I actually wanted this foundation. It all comes down to because I just love a cream foundation. I am a sucker for all things cream foundation. The MAC Full Coverage Cream foundation is my absolute favourite and I have been using it for years at this stage. So, whenever a new cream product comes onto the market, I need to get my hands on it. Not only that, but I am a sucker for anything in stick form. This is quick and easy to scribble all over my face, and that is exactly what this foundation is for me!

The coverage?
The main thing for me when it comes to any foundation is the amount of coverage that it offers. I am very much a full coverage kind of girl when it comes to my makeup, because if I am going to the effort of sitting down at my vanity and doing my glam, I want to head on our feeling a million dollars, and that happens for me when all of the problem areas on my skin are taken care of. I feel like these Hourglass Veil Foundation Sticks are a really great medium, yet buildable foundation stick. One layer of this buffed into my skin will give me a lovely base layer, but in order for it to cover everything that I need, I have to go in with another layer of product. This specific product builds up really beautifully on the skin and ends up looking flawless.

The consistency?
The consistency of this product really is a dream and I think that this is my favourite thing in general about the Hourglass Veil Foundation Sticks. For me, I need a foundation stick to have enough slip that it is easy enough to use on the skin and so that it buffs in fantastically on the skin. But, I also don’t want it to be too creamy so that it slips all over my skin and I end up looking like an oily mess throughout the day. I think that the thing for me is that I want my skin to look and feel incredibly hydrating, without looking like an oily mess throughout the day and I feel like this foundation does that easily, which only makes me love it more and that is why I reach for this when I want my skin to look perfect and feel amazing.
How it works with other products?
Every single beauty review that I write for you guys, but for me this is something incredibly important when it comes to a base product and that is how does it work and correspond with other items that I use on my base. For me, I have some other ride or die products that I have used for years and I want to be able to use this product, without any weird textures or the product balling up on the skin. I have been using this Hourglass Foundation Stick for many years at this stage and I am 100% sure that I have paired it with all of my favourite items, and I have never had an issue with how they work together. No matter what I have thrown at this, whether it is a cream, oil or god knows what else kind of product, it just works flawlessly.

Will I continue to repurchase?
I am sure that after reading this blog post, it will be pretty obvious to you guys that I am in love with this foundation stick, even after all of these years and I am going to continue to buy it for many years to come. For my blog and just because I am a makeup lover in general, I have to try out a lot of new foundations incredibly regularly, which means that normally I quickly stop using a product, in order to make room for something new, so when an item sticks around as much as this one, I know that it is one of my all-time favourites. Not to mention that for me, this ticks pretty much every single box that I have for not only foundations, but for highlighting and contouring sticks. I would hate to think how much I have spent on this item!
