 I am sure that I have spoken about this item here on my blog before, but I thought that for the people who are new here, I would sit down and write a review all about one of my favourite false tanners and that is the amazing Loving Tan. I can remember first seeing this product all over social media when it was first released, and I feel like everybody and their mothers were using this sunless tanner.
As much as I wanted to try it out sooner, it was like gold dust to get your hands on here in the UK without having to pay hundreds in import taxes from Australia, which is why I was so grateful when I realised that they had signed up a retailer here in London.
My favourite products.
At this stage, I have tried pretty much everything that Loving Tan have to offer and even though it was hard to do, I have really managed to whittle down my favourite items that at this stage, I really do not want to be without. My all time favourite has to be the 2 Hour Express Mousse, I love this because it is quick to develop and it is a lovely dark tan for me, without it looking too deep. I then love their Ultra Dark Mousse, it is a very deep tanner and I tend to only use this in the areas which I feel standard tanners so not develop as much, such as on my chest. I then love their gradual tanning lotion because it is fantastic for tan maintenance and it helps to moisturize my incredibly dry shins and keep them looking incredibly healthy and fresh.
The colour of the items.
The main thing that I adore about Loving Tan products is that the base for the tanner is unlike anything else that I have tried before. Whereas most high street tanners are green based when you apply them (which is the reason why they can look a little scary sometimes whist developing), but this Loving Tan has a red base. The beauty about the red base and why I love it so much is because if you apply it and head about your day before it has even fully developed is that it looks like you have naturally caught the sun and have a little sunburn going on, rather than just the fact that you have lathered yourself in something green. I also love that when it does develop it has a slight red hue to it.
The longevity of them.
As much as I loved been as tanned as the day is long, I also hate applying false tan. I have no idea why I hate it so much, it literally takes me all of 5 minutes to apply, but even that seems too long, so I want to apply my sunless tanner as infrequently as humanly possible. When I apply this on a Sunday evening, and with a shower every morning, I reckon I can get a good amount of colour for approximately 3 days. For the depth of colour that I want, I think that topping up this often is perfect for me to get an amazing colour every single day, without having any downtime or days where my skin resembles a loaf of tiger bread.
The transfer.
So, I have raved about this product hell of a lot in this blog post, but now I have to mention a negative of this product and that is how much this transfers. I am the kind of person that likes to apply their tanner in an evening before they go to bed. I started out with white bedsheets, but it literally looked like a blood bath by the morning. Honestly, I woke up summer morning thinking that I had been bleeding, but I had actually just sweat during the night and all of the tanner went on my white sheets and because the tanner is red-based, it honestly looked like my throat had been slit. I will admit that part of this is my own fault for sleeping naked, so there is no barrier between me and the sheets.
