As you guys may know, I am new to this whole pregnancy thing. This is my first baby and never in a million years did I think it would happen for me. Because I didn’t think that I would ever become a mother, I haven’t really given a second thought to some of the baby items that we might need. Simply because I didn’t want to get ahead of myself and then be disappointed if it didn’t happen. But we are here now, and I am still non-the-wiser to the kind of items that we need for our baby.
I have tried to look online at what other people recommend but to be honest, it just seemed to get a little silly. I watched one YouTube video of the items that a new mother recommends and by the time it had finished, the total was around £3,000. That was for things like the Snoo, 4moms rocker and other baby tech. It just seemed like such a ludicrous amount of money for a fleeting stage in a child’s life.
There is a small part of me that wants to go ahead and buy everything that I am seeing online. I want to look after my baby in the best possible way and if you read what people recommend online you would be led to believe that you need all of these new fancy fandangled things in order to be a good mother. My husband and I are very fortunate that we can afford to spend whatever money we need to on this miracle baby, but we also want to make smart decisions.
I guess my reason for this post is that I just want some opinions. If you are a mother, what are your recommendations? And I am looking for recommendations for all stages. Pregnancy, birth, newborn and beyond. What are the things that made a noticeable and positive impact on your life. Or what if you were to have a baby again, would you insist on doing differently or add to your baby items?
