Keeping up with our throwback trend, today I am going to sit down and share with you my monthly favourites from January. I feel like with the start of the New Year, I have lots of new enthusiasm, so I apologise in advance if I ramble forever and a day in this post.

I am sure that everything that I will write about in this post I will have mentioned time and time again on this site before. It simply shows how much I love, use and continue reaching each of the items, shows and products.

BEAUTY – BOBBI BROWN VITAMIN-ENRICHED FACE BASE

I don’t know why, but the first time I used the Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched Face base, I didn’t think it was the product for me. I had been so used to the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream that anything else didn’t seem to compare. However, the more I used this product, the more in love I fell. For me, this is a fantastic everyday moisturiser for underneath my makeup. It leaves my complexion smooth, hydrated and helps to prolong the life of my other base products.

FASHION – LONGCHAMP LA PLIAGE MINI

Late last year, the Longchamp La Pliage seemed to be the new ‘it’ bag online. TikTok was going crazy for this item and within just a few weeks the miniature size was at the height of popularity. It is actually a cosmetic pouch and even though it is small, it is more than big enough for me as an evening bag. I now own this in three different shades, and I even bought the optional long strap. I adore how timeless these are and I love putting them through their paces.

MOVIE – JURASSIC PARK

As a kid that grew up in the nineties, I cannot escape my profound love for Jurassic Park. I adore every new movie that is released into the Jurassic universe, but nothing will be better than the original. I can remember watching this for the first time with my dad when I was incredibly young, and I have adored it ever since. For me, this is a true comfort movie. I know what to expect from it and I will never tire of watching the origin story for all the other movies there were to follow.

BEAUTY – VICTORIA BECKHAM KAJAL LINER

Back in the day, I used to love a good liner, but over the years I have shied away and opted more for a powder and an angle brush if I want to get any kind of wing or line. With that said, I couldn’t hide from the massive praise that this Victoria Beckham Liner was getting, so naturally I had to give it a whirl. What I love about this product is that it is incredibly easy to apply because the formula is so slick, however it stays put where you need it to be. After trying many liners over the years, that is a hard balance to achieve.

HOBBY – ONLINE SHOPPING

Every now and again I go through phases where I spend like crazy online. Before Christmas, I loved going into places and spending my money. But nowadays I love sitting at home with my laptop on my knee and spending money like it is going out of style. To be honest, more than anything I have been making the most of the January sales and I have every intention of reigning it in before we get too far into the new month. Plus, I need to quit it before my husband starts to notice all the parcels getting delivered.

TV SHOW – NEW GIRL

New Girl was first on TV when I was just at college. I was around 17 years old at the time. Because of that, I hold so much nostalgia to the TV show and I think that is one of the reasons why I go back and watch it time after time. Plus, the older that I get, the more I see myself becoming Schmitt. I just think that sometimes in life you need those things that bring you happiness, whether they are silly or not. What I really love about New Girl and many of the shows that I do rewatch time and time again is that they are just simple easy watching that put a smile on my face.

FASHION – DIOR SLINGBACKS

The Dior Slingbacks are a pair of heels that I have had in my collection for a number of years. I can remember when I first bought them I was unsure of how much I would wear them, but looking back retrospectively I had absolutely nothing to worry about. When in doubt over the past month, I have reached for these. No matter what, they are always the perfect addition to my outfits. Not to mention that they are bloody comfortable and they have been since the very first time that I wore them.

BEAUTY – HAUS LABS FOUNDATION

I will admit that over the past year or so, I have been very overwhelmed when it comes to new foundation releases. They seem to come out endlessly and I struggle to keep up. Not to mention that trying all of the new products would require a full-time job simply to fund the habit. With that said, one new product that I couldn’t avoid was the Haus Labs. Since trying this out, I have fallen in love. I actually get excited to get ready in a morning so I can apply this and see the amazing difference that it makes to the base of my skin.

BOOK – MY ROOMMATE IS A VAMPIRE | HENA LEVIN

For as long as I can remember, I have seen the cover of this book pop up on my iBooks and Kindle app. Obviously, with the cartoon vibe and the strange title, it caught my attention. However, for a long time it wasn’t enough to make me actually want to read the book. I decided to finally bite the bullet and go for it. Don’t get me wrong, this isn’t a hard-hitting novel that is going to change the face of literature forever, but I did enjoy it. Sometimes you just need a light-hearted book and that is exactly what this is.

PLACE – KNARESBOROUGH

Very often I have said how fortunate I feel to live in the centre of England. That is because from my home I can be pretty much anywhere in the country within a few hours. In January, we went as a family to Knaresborough, and I fell in love. I am a sucker for anywhere with a viaduct-type bridge because it brings all of the wintery Harry Potter vibes. However, aside from that, Knaresborough is simply a beautiful place to visit. Lots of cute pubs, trinket shops and beautiful places to wander.

FOOD – HOMEMADE LASAGNE

Whenever I am in need of a good comfort meal, I instantly opt for lasagne. I have cooked it from scratch that much, I could probably do it with my eyes closed. To be honest, over the last few months I haven’t cooked it that much, in favour of some other winter meals which are heartier. However, after cooking one a couple of months ago, I fell in love all over again. I also find that with something like lasagne, each time I do it, my recipe changes ever so slightly and I love the outcome.

As always, I hope you guys enjoyed this post and learning more about my monthly favourites. After sharing my last post in January, I got some fantastic feedback from people saying how happy they were with the new posts, so I will be sure to keep them up.

I have always personally loved reading favourites posts because it allows me to see the things that people truly use, and I hope that continues to be the case for you guys. Where possible, I will link to the items that I have mentioned below. Leave me a comment and let me know the key things that you liked throughout January!
