You guys should know by now that I am a sucker for a foundation. Always have been and certainly always will be. There is something so amazingly transformative about how foundation is on the skin. Because I have areas of pigmentation damage on my cheeks, I have always loved how a good quality foundation can disguise my imperfections.
Over the years, I have amassed an amazing collection of high-quality foundations that look and feel amazing on the skin. In this post I am going to share with you guys some of the best of the best. Here are my all-time favourite foundations.
Nars Light Reflecting Foundation.
The first item that I am going to mention in this post about my all-time favourite foundations is going to be a Nars item. I have poured my heart out several times before about my deep love for Nars products. The foundations are lightweight, apply beautifully and sit like a dream. My old favourite used to be the All-Day Luminous Weightless Foundation and I pretty much had a breakdown when they discontinued the item. After years of searching, I finally discovered the Nars Light Reflecting Foundation and it was love at first swipe!
MAC Full Coverage Foundation.
This is the longest reigning foundation that I am going to mention in this post. When I was a teenager, I would always hear Wayne Goss talk about the MAC Full Coverage Foundation on his channel. Back in the day, you used to have to call the MAC head office to purchase this because it was strictly a pro only item. I still use this hell of a lot. This is a cream compact of foundation that packs a punch in terms of coverage. I tend to take a huge kabuki brush, swirl it into the cream and then I am good to go!
Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Foundation.
I have always been a fan of everything Charlotte Tilbury. It was one of the first brands that I ever worked with on my blog. The products for me were hit after hit. However, for me the brand then became a little stagnant with endless Pillow Talk releases. But when I saw the new full coverage foundation release, there was no doubt in my mind that I had to get my hands on it. Whenever I want something for a more special occasion, this is the foundation that I reach for. It covers everything easily and always looks fantastic on the skin.
Dior Backstage Foundation.
When the backstage line was first released, I knew that I needed to try it. Dior is a brand that I have adored for a long time, however with them bringing out an artistry line of makeup, I was desperate to get my hands on it. In the early days, I picked up probably every item in the backstage range and then stand out product to me was without a doubt the foundation. It reminded me of the old school MAC Face and Body which used to be a favourite of mine when I was a freelance makeup artist. Nowadays, I feel like this is a beautiful everyday foundation because the coverage is subtle, perfecting and so beautiful on the skin.
Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation.
There is no way that I could write a post about my all-time favourite foundations and not speak about the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation. This was probably one of the first high-end foundations that I ever bought. I first saw it in the iconic Makeup by Mario video that he did with Kim Kardashian back in the noughties. I mean, if it was good enough for Kim K, it was good enough for. What followed was a long love affair. It remains to this day a foundation that I simply cannot be without. Amazing coverage, great staying power and it looks fantastic.
Pat McGrath Skin Fetish Foundation.
When this foundation first launched, I wasn’t really that bothered about it. I was seeing other people using it online and it seemed pretty light coverage, so not for me. However, the reason why I wanted to get my hands on this was because I got to a stage where I wanted lighter coverage. My skincare regime was down to a tee and I was seeing huge differences in how my skin looked. Because of that, I wanted a lighter foundation so that my skin could actually show through the product. Low and behold, this item quickly became one of my all-time favourite foundations.
Tom Ford Traceless Foundation Stick.
If I want a foundation for ease of use, it is the Tom Ford Traceless Foundation Stick that I am going to use. A number of years ago, I jumped on this foundation because I saw Alix Earle using it on TikTok. I think she sold the world out of this foundation stick and the Drunk Elephant drops. Regardless, when I got my hands on this, I fell in love. It is a foundation for lazy people like me who every now and again need something that can be applied in a matter of seconds. This has become the foundation that I keep in my handbag for top ups through the day or for a quick base if needed!
As always, I hope you enjoyed this post and getting to learn all about my all-time favourite foundations. If you have read my site for some time, the items that I have mentioned in this post will come as no surprise.
