For so many years, I would see women wearing Doc Marten boots and be so envious. I loved their effortless grungy style and I longed to be able to pull it off. My style up to that point had been kind of preppy and it seemed a big transition to go from that to Doc Marten wearer. So, to begin with I bought a similar pair of boots from River Island. If I wore them and felt like I could style them, I would go ahead and buy the Doc Marten Jadon boots. It’s safe to say, I wore, loved and ruined those boots so it was a no brainer that I had to treat myself to a real pair. So, now that I have been wearing these and bedding them in for some time, I thought it was time to share my thoughts with you guys.
Why I wanted these boots.
As I mentioned above, I wanted these boots because I always loved how other people could wear them. I would see the cool girls wearing them on Instagram and I adored how they looked. They just seemed to be able to create such amazing outfits that looked effortlessly thrown together, but with the boots as an amazing focal point. That’s the kind of grungy style that I love to go for, but I just didn’t know how to do it. Nor did I know if these boots would suit my style and they were a little bit of an investment at almost £200.
Â
How I style these boots.
My go to style for these boots is to always wear them with skirts and dresses. I love to opt for a mix of feminine and masculine, these boots do that perfectly. For me, my go to outfit if I just want to throw something on is a black jumper dress, some sheer tights and then my Doc Marten Jadon boots. The boots help to blend my two favourite styles perfectly and they always look the part. I will say that I haven’t yet mastered wearing these with jeans or trousers, but I am quite alright with that.
Â
The practicality of these boots.
Living in the north of England, it is always wet and cold. Especially during the winter months. The main reason why I have worn these so much is because they are bloody practical against a cold northern winter. I have worn these when there has been snow on the ground, when it’s been torrential rain and everything else. Regardless of what the elements have thrown at these boots, they always stand up perfectly and keep my feet toasty warm. In terms of a pair of sturdy winter boots, I think these have been a great addition to my closet.
Â
Breaking them in.
One thing that everybody warned me against was breaking in the boots. People screamed at me that I would want to cut my toes off with how much pain they will be in. Some people even said that they develop full kits to break in the boots and have a go to routine. For me, these were fine. I began wearing them and within a few weeks I could feel them soften up and begin to mould to my feet. There was minimal pain, no blisters and they felt fine. No different to any other chunky/military style boots that I have owned before.
Â
The cost per wear.
You guys will know by now that I adore fashion. However, as well as having a packed-out closet, I do try to be smart with my purchases. Because of that, I try to ensure that everything that I buy has a low cost per wear. So, since buying these in September last year, I have worn them well over 100 times. Which makes them without a doubt one of my most own pair of boots in my closet. I am sure that over the warmer summer months I won’t wear them as much, but they are going to be my go to autumn/winter shoes.
As always, I hope you guys enjoyed this blog post on the Doc Marten Jadon boots. They have been a welcome addition to my closet, and I am so glad that I picked them up. For me, these have been the most worn shoes in my collection for quite some time. Honestly, I have worn these more than all of my heels put together. Not to mention that I get countless compliments whenever I wear these boots. People seem to love them and how I put outfits together with these Doc Marten Jadon boots being the central focus point. I will pop a link below to these boots if you would like to check them out for yourself. As always, I want to hear from you guys. Leave me a comment below and let me know if you are a Doc Marten fan.
