It’s a new month and that means that we need to sit down and write another monthly favourite post. For the last couple of months, I have been trialling writing these posts and the feedback has been better than I initially expected, so they are here to stay.

I’m not going to lie, February for me was a rather quiet month. The weather wasn’t great so we had hell of a lot of time at home. However, I am trying to make plans so that I can make the best of the remainder of my maternity leave. Without further rambling, here are the things, foods, products and places that I loved throughout February.

BEAUTY – HOURGLASS VEIL POWDER

This is a powder that I have had in my collection for some time and as time passes by, I pick it up and then set it back down on a regular basis. Whenever I pick this back up, I always wonder why I ever set it to the side to try something else. The main thing that I adore about this Hourglass Veil Powder is that even though it is a powder, it feels hydrating on the skin. Some powders can really suck the moisture out of your skin, but that certainly isn’t the case with this and over the cooler months I have loved adding this into my rotation.

FASHION – CHANEL TWEED FLAP BAG

I have gushed about this handbag many times here on my site so I am sure you guys know that I love this item. Chanel has always been an iconic brand for me and certainly one of the brands that I have heavily invested in. I have a fairly fantastic collection now, and my prized item from the collection is without a doubt my small tweed bag. Since getting this item almost two years ago, I have used it probably at least once per week and I can honestly say that I seriously think it was worth the investment.

MOVIE – THE DA VINCI CODE

As a history nerd who completely loves art and Paris, you can be assured that this is one of my favourite movies. I watch the trilogy of these movies every few months and every single time I watch them, I fall in love all over again. That combined with the mysticism of it all, makes it the perfect film for me to get lost in for a while. After watching this first movie as a child, I was adamant that I was probably a direct descendant of Jesus Christ, much to the frustration of my father who would just roll his eyes at me.

BEAUTY – VIEVE BLACK LIQUID LINER

It isn’t very often that I opt for liner in favour of something softer with powder. However, I found this in my makeup collection a few weeks ago when I was getting ready to head out with the girls. I decided to give myself a very small wing with this product and I couldn’t believe the definition that this brought to my eyes. Don’t get me wrong, I felt like I was wearing hell of a lot more makeup than normal, but I got endless compliments and that always gives you a little boost.

RANDOM – CBT

I speak here on my site all the time about mental health, so I am sure this won’t come as a surprise. However, you may recall that a few years ago I tried CBT and it didn’t work for me. More recently, I was having a hard time with my OCD again and somebody recommended that I give it another go. After a few sessions and me being honest about why I didn’t think it worked for me last time, I feel like I am in a completely different place this time around. Plus, I think the biggest difference is that I am now speaking to somebody that I truly get along fantastically with. She doesn’t just make me feel like another client.

TV PROGRAMME – THE US OFFICE

I first watched the US Office when I was only 15 years old, and I am still in love. If I could only pick one series to watch for the rest of my life it would probably be this. Back in the day, I was completely obsessed with Pam and Jim, which I think comes from having my own workplace romance. However, the older that I get, the deeper my love for Michael Scott. He is a complete prick, but I adore him. My favourite episode is absolutely the one where Pam finds out she’s pregnant at the company team-building workshop. I cry every single time!

FASHION – GOYARD GREEN TOTE

Last year Goyard had a moment, and I fell in love. After falling in love with the appearance of the tote, I treated myself to two different colours, the stunning green and the iconic burgundy. Even though burgundy was the colour of the season, I continually found myself reaching for the green. The main reason why this has been so used recently for me is because it serves as a great everyday handbag and I can throw all of the baby’s things inside and still have room to spare.

BEAUTY – FENTY MATCHSTICK

Surprisingly, this was actually a rather new addition to my beauty routine not that long ago. When it was first released, I wasn’t really that keen to pick it up. I had seen some people say rather negative things online and at the time I didn’t think it would really suit my makeup routine and match the kind of products that I typically use. However, over the past year the makeup that I love has changed so much, so I figured it was time to give it a try. Needless to say, I am hooked. So quick and easy to use. It is not overly emollient that it slips around the skin. There is just so much that I love about this and I wished I tried it sooner.

BOOK – WANTED | KELLY ELLIOTT

Back when I first got into reading as a teenager, this was one of the first books that I ever read. At the time, I think I loved it so much because I was a similar age and I wanted that crazily romantic getaway to the depths of Texas. As I have gotten older, I have reread this novel a few times. I’m not going to lie, my toes sometimes curl while reading a novel about what is essentially two teenagers falling in love for the first time. For me, one of the things that keeps me coming back to this book is the setting, the ranch, the lake and the lifestyle rather than the characters. I guess there is also a vast amount of nostalgia for me and I think back on my life when I was 17 years old and reading this for the first time.

PLACE – LONDON

Many times, I have mentioned that I love the fact that we live very close to London. Ok, perhaps we aren’t close to London, but from our local train station, we can hop on a fast train and be in the capital city in a little over an hour. In February, I decided to hop on the train with the pram and go for a day out with my son. He loves walking around and even when it begins to get drizzly he looks like the happiest and most content boy under the rain cover. I nipped for some nice breakfast, walked the length of the city and spent far too much money in Harrods. We had a great time!

FOOD – BURRITOS

If my husband is cooking for me, it is probably going to be something Mexican and something spicy. His favourite food in the world in Burritos and over the past month I feel like we have eaten them constantly. The thing is, I only really like burritos at home and that is because I don’t like all the sauces that you typically get on them when you eat out. Even without the sour cream and guac, my husband manages to get really juicy and flavoursome burritos and over the past few weeks, I feel like I have asked for them a few times each week.

As always, I hope you guys enjoyed this post. I have come to realise since writing these posts that it really makes me take a step back and think about what I am thoroughly enjoying. I can be very guilty of spending too much money and making myself busy doing the things that I don’t really want to do. Reviewing my month gives me the clarity to what I adore and then that helps me to realise where and what I want to be doing for the month ahead.
