If you have visited this site before, you may have heard me talk about my beloved hair. Over the years, I have been on quite the journey when it comes to my locks. As a 30-year-old, I was born into the generation of girls who fucked around with their hair at home. Bleaching kits, box dyes and home haircuts.

After a plethora of mishaps, I realised the error of my ways and decided that it was finally time to step up my game when it came to taking care of my hair. One part of that was investing in good haircare products and sticking to using them on a regular basis.

Orbie Texturizing Spray.

One thing that I had to learn very early on was that my hair is incredibly fine. As my hair stylist always says, I have plenty hair on my head, but it is very fine. For that reason, my hair struggles to hold a style and it is where products like the Orbie Texturising Spray comes into the mix. Don’t get me wrong, I was dubious about picking this up initially because it is expensive. However, since adding this into my product rotation, my styles have lasted hell of a lot longer and I don’t have to go in with quite as much hairspray as I once had to.

GHD Heat Protectant.

I am sure that if you are anything like me, you were born into the generation of endlessly straightening your already potentially straight hair. We would straighten even though there was no point. We would straighten on top of hairspray and really bake it into the hair and make it crispy. Not once have we thought of applying heat protectant.

This has probably been my biggest lesson over the years. Using heat in moderation is fine, as long as I use heat protectant religiously. For me, the GHD product ticks all my boxes without breaking the bank.

Living Proof Roof Lift Spray.

Back on the fine hair thing, I need as much help as possible to get some life in the roots of my hair. With curling and texturizing spray, I can make the ends of my hair look full and thick, however I still need more help when it comes to the roots of my hair.

When my hair is wet, I will dry my hair around 80%. Next, I take the Living Proof Root Lift Spray, section my hair and spray this at the roots. Once I am happy that it is well applied everywhere I go back in with my blow dryer and get that volume that I really need. Another expensive item, but it has made a huge difference to my hair.

Silverkrin Hairspray.

When I was growing up and really getting into beauty products, I wanted to fall in love with L’Oreal Elnett. It was an iconic product that everybody in the world seemed to use and love. However, after persevering with it for as long as I can remember, I had to come to terms with the fact that it simply didn’t work for me. My hair is far too fine and without a mega hold hairspray, any style that I try to do will simply fall from my locks.

That is where Silverkrin enters the chat. This is a firm hairspray. If I use too much of this product, it can feel crunchy in my hair, however it also allows somebody like me with rather limp hair to get longevity out of my styles. I would rather forgo the feel of my hair over the ability to maintain a style.

Pureology Shampoo and Conditioner.

I was always a girl who used whatever shampoo and conditioner was available at the supermarket. To be honest, I was quite a dick about it and I would try to tell people that they were being ripped off by splurging on expensive shampoos and conditioners. I was such a twat.

Using Pureology shampoo and conditioner changed my hair completely for the better. It even brought my hair back from the brink when I was going in with dye and heat far too much. I have used this one and off now for almost a decade and I always prefer my hair during the seasons of my life when I opt for this item.

Living Proof Dry Shampoo and Volume Spray.

The final item that I am going to talk about is a product that I use on a daily basis. After learning that my beloved Batiste Dry Shampoo that I had used for well over 10 years was slowly killing me, I decided to shop around.

I use dry shampoo in moderation every day in order to get longevity out of my clean hair. By using minimal product each day, I never get to a greasy stage and my hair always smells fresh. I was dubious about this item because it is hell of a lot more expensive than my good old Batiste, however, I adore it and I really think that it has made the biggest difference to the daily appearance of my hair.

As always, I hope you guys enjoyed this post and learning more about some of my favourite haircare products. It has been a learning curve trying to figure out the items that work for me. Finally, after sticking to a good routine, using high-quality products, my hair is in the best condition of its life.

Where possible, I will add a link below to the items that I have mentioned below should you wish to check them out for yourself. Leave me a comment and let me know what some of your favourites are and I will be sure to check them out for myself.
