Why did I first get this foundation?
I am sure that if you are a beauty lover like me. You will have seen this Too Faced Born This Way foundation all over the place for many years. When I bought my first bottle of this foundation, I picked it up because Jaclyn Hill used it. Then I used that bottle and even though I did want to get my hands on another. It wasn’t a priority for me, and I just opted to get something new. I then got this again after the big revival in 2020 and I fell completely in love all over again and I have now repurchased a couple of times. My reasoning for buying this foundation has always been influence from others that has swayed me!
How does it apply?
To say that I am fussy when it comes to picking a foundation, I think is a little bit of an understatement and one of the biggest things that I look for is how it actually applies to the skin. I like to wear full coverage products, but I don’t want anything to tug or pull on my skin through fear of premature aging. For this Too Faced Born This Way Foundation, I would say that it is a medium to full coverage product, but it is an incredibly smooth formula that glides on the skin incredibly beautifully. I love using it because I know that I am going to get a great application every single time when I take some time and really buff it into the skin to get a completely flawless finish.
What is the finish?
A big thing when it comes to any foundation is what the finish is like. Honestly, feel like I am pretty picky when it comes to the finish of my foundations and I like to know that every product that I throw on my face is going to work well for me. I have a pretty oily complexion, but I do not like a matte face because I feel like it is sucking the life out of my skin, but I also don’t like something too luminous because it can enhance my natural sheen. Also, I am not keen on satin foundations because I just think that they don’t really work great for my skin… I know, I am a nightmare. This is just a standard foundation and depending on what I pair with them, I can make the foundation suit how I am feeling that day.
How long does it last on the skin?
I have said it before and I will say it again, but when I apply my foundation, I need that product to stay in place all day long. Normally I get up around 6am and then head off to work, so I need my makeup to last from that point, to around 10pm at night when I get chance to do my skincare routine. I never mind touching up my makeup throughout the day because I am a pretty oily person, but I want my base to look great and not end up patchy or like it is moving around in any kind of way. I will say that this foundation does have a little more slip than other products, but it is still great quality and stays put on my face all day long, if I set it in place really well with my Laura Mercier Translucent Powder.

What is the shade range like?
I can remember the first time that I tried out this foundation, the shade range really was something to be desired. It wasn’t great, but I could always find my shade, but I have a medium/tan complexion, so I never find it incredibly challenging. I will say that over the years they have done an amazing job at expanding the shade range and they even worked with YouTuber Jacki Aini to help expand the deeper shades and ensure that they had something that would match everybody and all different undertones. For me, I would say that this is a great inclusive brand and if I was back working as a pro makeup artist, this would be one of the items in my kit because I know that there is such a great variety of products and something will work for everybody!

I love how this applies, the shade which I use is a great match for me and I know that when I apply this foundation, it is going to be one and set-in place all day long without any issues.
