For the new year, I am going to bring back the good old-fashioned favourites post. I can remember when I first started blogging, these were my favourite posts to write. I liked to believe that it was the only time I could see the good products through the huge over-consumerism and actually get to the crooks of what was worth spending my money on.
However, I am going to be doing things slightly differently. Not only am I going to be sharing products with you guys, but I am also going to take things one step further. I am going to share with you my favourite books, meals, how I am getting out of the house and so much more.
Beauty – Elf Power Grip Primer.
Elf over the last couple of years has become the brand that you turn to whenever you want to get your hands on a dupe. I don’t really know how I feel about dupes because I think that it can do something negative to the original brand, however with that said, I can’t deny that Elf absolutely kills the game. When I first tried the Elf Power Grip Primer, I couldn’t deny just how fantastic it was for my makeup. It helps it last all day long, it stops deterioration through the day and it truly makes a difference to my base.
Fashion – Louis Vuitton Pochette Metis.
I will keep this short because I have mentioned this handbag so many times over the years. Growing up as a Tumblr child, this handbag was the centrepiece for all of the fashion influencers of the day. I longed to own it, however, at the time when I was in love with it, there was not a cat in hell’s chance that I could purchase it. Lo and behold, this has now been in my collection for almost a decade, and I have never tired of it. Each winter this becomes one of my most used items and I love reaching for it.
Movie – Inside Out
This may be a little ridiculous including a children’s movie in this post, but it needed a shoutout. A couple of weeks ago, I was looking after my niece for the day, and she asked me to put on Inside Out. I had never seen it before and within an instant, I fell madly in love. There was so much of it that I could completely relate to. Especially having issues with my mental health, I can often feel the different conflicting emotions going haywire in my brain and it was beautiful to see that portrayed in a children’s movie
Beauty – Charlotte Tilbury Nudegasm Palette
For a long time, I gave a wide berth to all things Charlotte Tilbury. As I have spoken about before, I have grown tired of Charlotte Tilbury and the endless Pillow Talk releases. It lacked creativity and to be honest, I felt like they were just churning out the releases with the same name as a cash grab. However, after having a clear out a couple of months ago, I came across the Nudegasm palette that was barely used and I have fallen madly in love with it. The shades are amazing, I can use pretty much everything included and it is fantastic for when I am out and about.
Tech – iPad Pro
I have owned my iPad for many years. To be honest, for a long time I thought that it was a massive waste of money because I only used it to watch the odd YouTube video on. Only recently have I been using it hell of a lot more. I would even go as far as to say that I am using this more than I am my standard laptop at the moment. The only thing that I wish at the moment is that I got the larger size so the keyboard was even easier to use, but you live, you learn. It is still a fantastic item that I have loved using.
TV Show – The Vampire Diaries
The familiar is where I am comfortable and that is why I watch The Vampire Diaries endlessly. That and how sexy Damon is.
The first time I watched The Vampire Diaries was actually because a friend forced it on me. I had been looking into my genealogy with my grandfather and I had a great great-great-grandfather that hailed from Italy whose surname was Salvatore. Telling my friend that made her scream and before I knew it, she was sitting me down and forcibly introducing me to Stefan and Damon.
I now rewatch this show every single winter and I will never tire of the toxic yet incredibly sexy relationship between Damona and Elena.
Fashion – All Saints Leather Jacket
No matter what, I adore a leather jacket. Growing up, I felt like I could break down people into either being a leather jacket or a denim jacket wearer. I am without a doubt a leather jacket wearer. For years, I would buy cheap leather jackets from places like ASOS or Topshop and even though they were great for a season or two, they ended up looking dowdy and damaged rather quickly. That was when I invested in my All Saints Leather Jacket. For me, this is just a fantastic step up and I have been wearing it half to death over the last month.
Beauty – Dior Forever Stick Foundation
When this foundation first started to blow up on TikTok last year, I knew that it was going to be a quick addition to my makeup collection. It didn’t disappoint as soon as I got my hands on it. This glides on the skin seamlessly, it blends out with so much ease and sits perfectly all day long. Many times, I have said here on my site that I love base products that look better as the day goes on and that is what I feel this Dior Forever Stick Foundation does for me.
Book – Flawless (Elsie Silver)
I first read this book years ago and I still love it. Due to my OCD, I take comfort in the familiar which is why I will reread books that I enjoy time and time again. For those of you that are unfamiliar with the wonderful Chestnut Springs series, Flawless is a book about a sexy ass bull rider. He is getting some negative PR, so a woman is appointed to keep him on the straight and narrow… I am sure you can work out what happened next. Smut, cowboys and ranch life.
Out The House – Going To The Cinema
Before having a child, I used to take myself off to the cinema on a regular basis. Most Fridays when I would finish work early, I would drive down to the local cinema and sit there on my own, usually at the back of the screen, eating a bucket of popcorn and taking in the latest movies. With having a baby, I can’t exactly take a newborn to the cinema, so it was a hobby that faded away. However, over the last month I have reinvested in a cinema card, I leave our baby with their daddy, and I take myself to the cinema. I adore having some time to myself.
Food – Tacos
I am the kind of person that when I become obsessed with food, I can then eat it every single day of the week. That is where my current obsession with Tacos comes from. My favourite is birria tacos and without a doubt, I could eat them every single day of the week. But beyond that, I am just loving throwing every combination into a tiny wrap and toasting it in a pan. My husband even started a running joke about all the new taco combinations I was coming up with, but I don’t care, I just love them!
As always, I hope you guys enjoyed this post and finding out what some of my favourites have been over the last month. I look forward to sharing more with you over the coming months. Hopefully by writing these posts, you guys will be able to see the things that I truly use, what I am loving and how I am spending my time.
