As I have shared many times before, I have been writing and sharing for many years. In the beginning, this was no more than a hobby. I had many different opinions on makeup and fashion, and I wanted to share them with an audience. When I started out I never had any inclination that my site would pick up pace and all of these years later, I would still be sitting here writing.

If anything, as the years have gone by, I have found an even deeper love for writing and that is why I have expanded what I do much beyond the realms of this site. In this post today, I am going to share with you some of the reasons why I love writing and why I continue to do it today.

Why I began writing.

Like I mentioned in the beginning of the post, I started writing one day simply because I was over opinionated, and I wanted to share my thoughts with people. Whether my opinions were wanted or not. Making the site was the easy part, actually beginning to work and generate posts was something that scared me senseless. I was very aware that the words that I put out there were going to be there forever and I didn’t want to mess it up.

How I found it in the early days.

In the early days when I first began writing, it was an upwards struggle. I can remember taking a subject, mapping it out roughly and then staring at the screen for hours on end. Even though I knew in my head how I wanted it to read and come across, thinking that and communicating it were two different things. But as time went, I began to find it much easier. Each post came quicker, and the words seemed to flow much easier.

How I improved my skills.

Practice. Practice. And more practice. More than anything, this was the main thing that I did to try and improve my skills. Don’t get me wrong, in the early days there was some hairy posts which were far from amazing. I can remember re-reading a few a couples of years ago and almost dying from embarrassment. However, the more I wrote, the more I saw my posts begin to improve and I became incredibly proud of what I was able to achieve.

What I quickly realised.

After taking time and realising that my skills were growing, I realised that I could incorporate my new love for writing in so many different ways. It is around this point when I decided to try my hand at freelance content creating and it completely changed my life. Both for my mental capacity and my wallet. I realised that it brought me a level of calm and because of that I worked hard to continue to grow in the space.

What writing became for me.

Often, I have shared my difficulties with my mental health. One of the biggest things for me is constantly overthinking. Without something to do, my mind can run at a million miles per minute. But writing gives me something to channel my energy. It gives me focus and something to aim towards. Ultimately, writing is an escape for me and something that I can channel all of my energy into. It is a hobby that consumes me, but in all of the best ways.

Where I am today.

Today, I am even more obsessed with writing than I ever have been before. In every moment of my free time, I find myself sat with my laptop, creating. Whether it be new posts for this site. Pages of a novel that I am working on. Or even my freelance work. Most of the time, I will be sat writing in whatever spare time I have because that is what fills my cup and I completely adore it.

As always, I hope you guys enjoyed this post and learning more about why I love writing. It has been an incredible learning curve educating myself on writing. It is a discipline, and I am thoroughly thrilled to be here today due to the written word. Long may it continue because I don’t see myself having a change of heart any time soon.

Be sure to leave me a comment below and let me know what you guys thought of this post and if you too enjoy writing to the same degree that I do. I will forever be grateful for that first day that I started writing and I was able to develop this deep love.
