For the year of 2023, I want to bring back good old favourites posts. They were something that I loved when I started out. Now only did I like writing them, I used to love spending time looking at what other people were loving. So because of that, I am going to be here at the beginning of every month sharing my favourites with you guys. These are products that I have loved, used and shouted about for the past month. I am going to try and think a little more broadly than just makeup, but you guys know it will be heavily beauty focused. So, without further rambling, here are my January favourites…
Après Gel X
I have shared before here on my blog that I do my own nails. For a few reasons I don’t like sitting in nail salons, so I have taught myself how to do gel nails. More recently, I added Après Gel X to my repertoire, and I have been adoring the results. My natural nails are ok, but pretty thin, so even with BIAB they can bend easily. Adding a solid Après tip can give them a little extra strength and then I go over with my normal gels. They then last for upwards of 3 weeks, which is amazing and why I continue to use it!

Philip Kingsley Elastasizer
Last month, I removed my hair extensions for the first time in almost a year. I had been getting micro rings and even though my hair was in good condition, I felt like it needed a refresh. Because of that, I did some research and then picked up the Philip Kingsley Elastasizer. It was actually Victoria McGrath from In The Frow that made me want to try this. I used it a few times and I instantly fell in love. Within just a couple uses, this blew my mind how much this had transformed my hair. Hopefully, with a few more uses it will feel better than ever before.

La Mer Face Powder
I wanted to hate this La Mer Face Powder, I really did. The only reason why I picked this up was for the purpose of reviewing it on my blog. I didn’t actually want to add it to my collection. However, after trying it out a few times, it became obvious that it was very different to my other translucent powders. It is the smoothing properties that makes me adore this product so much. Whenever I use this, my makeup stays perfect all day, my pores disappear, and it controls my oil perfectly. It has made me want to try out so many other La Mer products.

Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Contour Wand
When this had a resurgence on TikTok I dug this out of my collection. I can remember using it when it was first released, and I liked it. But since then, it is an item that just got pushed to one side as I tried other similar products. However, since picking this up again I became hooked. Â The colour of it is absolutely wonderful. It blends in flawlessly and incredibly quickly. Plus, it never disrupts my foundation that I have on as a base. There really is nothing like this on the market that has the same high level of quality.

Louis Vuitton Pochette Metis
Whenever I think about my favourite bags, I always get stuck between this or my Chanel Double Flap bag. In the winter, I always feel like I fall madly in love again with the Louis Vuitton Pochette Metis. I love the tone of this bag and the amazing, classic colour palette. Not to mention the size is perfect for a ‘non-everyday’ basis. It is versatile, easy to carry and most importantly it is out of this world in terms of quality. I literally fought with Louis Vuitton to get my hands on this item almost 5 years ago and it has been a trust addition to my closet ever since.
Â
Dior Suede Ankle Boots
I have told the story of these beautiful Dior Suede Ankle Boots here before. Years ago, I saw an influencer wearing these on Instagram and I fell in love with them. I made a note of them on my wish list, and I never stopped thinking about them. Then one day I was browsing a luxury second hand website and I saw these boots, in my size sitting in the sale section. They were perfect, near new and I purchased them within a second. My Dior boots are an amazing item to my closet and I have worn them more than I care to mention this past month. They just go so well with everything. Especially my sheer tights and skirts that is my standard uniform at the moment.
As always, I hoped you guys enjoyed reading my January favourites. I tried to think about all areas of my life, but as always there are countless beauty products. One of the main reasons why I loved favourites posts so much is because you genuinely see the good items through the hordes of items. People talk about so many different products and things, but when you see posts like this, it gives you an insight into what items have actually been impactful to people. As always, I will pop a link below to the items that I have mentioned if possible. Please leave me a comment and let me know what you think of my favourites. But also tell me what some of your January favourites were.
