It is time for another throwback beauty post here on my blog and today it is going to be all about the RCMA No Colour Powder. If you have visited this site over the years, I am sure you will have heard me mention this item countless times. I first picked this up, well over a decade ago. When I was training to be a freelance makeup artist, this was the powder that was recommended to me for my kit and I have been locked in a love affair with it ever since. However, over the last few years, a few other brands have turned my head and I figured that I would put this through the ringer once again and let you know what I think.
What I used to think about this powder.
I am sure that if you searched the phrase, ‘RCMA No Colour Powder’, in my site, you would be met with countless posts. I can remember falling in love with this many years ago. I think it was one of the first high-end products that I tried, and I was hooked from the start. From that point on, every powder that I have ever tried, I have compared to this because I held it in such high regard.
Â
Why I wanted to give it another try.
The main reason why I wanted to give this a try is because there was once a time when I used nothing but this. I actually think that spell went on for many months, if not years. I couldn’t see why people weren’t head over heels with this, especially given the low cost for the vast volume of product that was inside. Truthfully, I wanted to see if I still loved this product as much and if the formula was still the same.
Â
How I use this powder.
For as long as I have had this RCMA No Colour Powder, I have used it in the same way. I will take a small amount on a powder puff and lock in the key areas that are prone to creasing. Then, I will reach for my big ass powder brush and dust it over my entire face to remove the tackiness from my base products. Even though I love a glowing makeup look, I hate the feeling of my base products still feeling tacky and that is why I powder overall.
Â
How it sets my base.
One thing that I do initially, is I take some of this RCMA No Colour Powder on a small powder puff and I set the areas that are prone to creasing around the face. That may be around my nose, my smile lines and the fine skin underneath my eyes. With just a small amount of powder, you can see the skin became matte, smooth and even. I think that this does a fantastic job at drying down my makeup and locking it into place.
Â
The longevity.
One thing that I have always said about this RCMA No Colour Powder, and it is a comment that I stand by, is that this is a hydrating powder. Which I know in itself is a contradictory statement. As I said above, this RCMA No Colour Powder sets the face beautifully, but it doesn’t dry the skin out. It helps to maintain a level of hydration and because of that, my makeup can last for a long time, but not as long as some of the powders that set your face to within an inch of its life and dry it out. I do have to touch up with this powder, but it isn’t anything extreme.
Â
How it compares to other powders.
Over the past few years, I have made no secret about some of my go to face powders. Whether it is the Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder, Hourglass Veil Powder, Givenchy Prism Libre Powder or so many more. The market has exploded over recent years with amazing, high-quality items. However, I really do think that this RCMA No Colour Powder manages to hold its own in comparison to those items.
Â
Would I purchase?
As I am sure you can already tell from this glowing review, I would absolutely go ahead and purchase this RCMA No Colour Powder. To be honest, since picking this back up, it has been the primary powder that I use. It just gets the job done without a fuss and I adore that about it. There is a reason that this is a loved product by makeup artists all around the world. This will be one of those items that I continuously go back to.
As always, I hope you guys enjoyed this post and learning more about the RCMA No Colour Powder. To me, even though this is without a doubt a throwback, I still adore it. It does what you need a face powder to do, while keeping things very simple. No overwhelming fragrance, no colour or shimmer. This is just a good quality powder that I know I will continue to come back to, time after time. As always, I will add a link below to this powder for you guys to check it out for yourself. Be sure to leave me a comment below and let me know if you have tried the RCMA No Colour Powder and what your thoughts were.
