I try to keep things nice and positive here on my site. Because of that, I don’t really like to share negative reviews. If you see a review on my site, it is because I can see positives in the item and I think it is worth sharing. Rather than dragging a product or a brand, I would simply choose not to share my thoughts. With that being said, there are some products that I wouldn’t purchase again. These are all items that I have used and enjoyed, but now I think it is time to move on and try something new. In this post I am going to share the products I won’t buy again.

Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter.

Please don’t hate me, but first up in the products I won’t buy again is the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter. At the time when this was first released, I decided to go ahead and buy it as it was the only product of its kind on the market. It does nice things for the skin, but there are now other products that can give me the same kind of look. I think Elf have a similar item and the SPF from Supergoop also works in a similar way.

Nars Sheer Glow Foundation.

For many years, my go to foundation was the Nars All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation. When they discontinued that item, I began to work my way through the other Nars foundations to find a perfect replacement. I liked the Nars Sheer Glow Foundation, but there was nothing fantastic about it that blew me away. Especially when I think about it compared to the Giorgio Armani Luminous Sil that is one of my favourite items.

Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Liner.

I did a post a while back about how I am over the whole Pillow Talk hype. It is boring to me now and I want Charlotte Tilbury to find something new to rave about. However, I now want to talk about the Pillow Talk Lip Liner. I got my hands on this years ago and I really tried to make it work. The truth is, this is far too light for me and my skintone. Because of that, it can really wash my lips out and make them look pale. I should have given this up a long time ago, but because it is an iconic shade, I wanted it to work. That is why it is a products I won’t buy again.

Tarte Shape Tape Concealer.

If I had a pound for every time I have mentioned the Tarte Shape Tape Concealer here on my site, I would be a very rich lady. When this came out, I was at the height of my makeup blogger life. This was a new concealer to the market that pretty much blew everything else out of the water. The coverage was next level and it looked fantastic everywhere on the face. However, as I have gotten older, I have realised that I want something different from my concealer. I now don’t want ultimate coverage; I just want a little extra help. Making my Tarte Shape Tape redundant.

YSL Lash Clash Mascara.

I want to start this by saying that I do really like the YSL Lash Clash Mascara. It did everything that I wanted and expected from a mascara. However, this is still a product I won’t buy again. The reason for that is because this did nothing extraordinary. This performed very similar to my Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara. So, if I had to make a choice, I would go with the drugstore version to help save a little money. That isn’t to say that this isn’t a great mascara, it is simply that it didn’t blow my socks off.

Refy Brow Sculpt.

Before I start writing, I want to remind people that items aren’t in this post because I don’t like them. It is simply because I have found an alternative that works better for me. When I first used the Refy Brow Sculpt, I loved it. It was the first product that I had tried like this which helps to give a laminated brow look. Since trying this out, there are other products that I have given a whirl that seem to work better. For instance, the Anastasia Brow Freeze is a similar principle, yet it feels much lighter and thin through the brows. Not to mention that the hold is out of this world.

Hourglass Veil Concealer.

I purchased this Hourglass Veil Concealer after seeing it blow up on TikTok. Everybody seemed to be using this and it only made me want to try it even more. Sadly, it is now a product I won’t buy again. That is because even though it applies well and has great coverage, I find that it is very dry. I am nearly 30 years old, and I have some pretty fine line under my eyes. This concealer just seems to settle into every line that I have. I feel like it only happens later in the day, but when it comes to concealer, I never want it to happen!

MAC Lipsticks.

This is a generalized point and not due to one colour in particular. I feel like MAC Lipsticks have really had their day. Not only that, but my makeup style has changed so much. No longer do I want an everlasting matte lipstick. I want something that is comfortable, wearable and that looks lovely on the lips. A couple months ago I sorted through my entire lipstick drawer and there wasn’t a single MAC lipstick that I have reached for over the last few years. Nowadays I would opt for either YSL or Charlotte Tilbury when it comes to new lipstick.

Clinique Lip Oil.

Many times, I have shared here on my site that I have the driest lips in the world. So, when I first tried the Clinique Lip Oil, it was like love at first site. It was a product that helped to nourish, moisturize and it also looked great. The one thing that I didn’t like about this product was that I felt like it spread around the face. If I had been wearing this all day, by the evening I felt like my whole chin was sticky. The product just seemed to migrate and slip everywhere. Now that I have other lip oils which stay put and don’t seem as slick, I don’t feel like I have a need for this Clinique Lip Oil anymore.

MAC Give Me Sun Bronzer.

For the longest time, MAC Give Me Sun has been my ride or die bronzer. It is a shame that it is now a product I won’t buy again. I adore how this bronzer applies and blends, but the colour just isn’t right for me. To be honest, I can’t believe that I stuck with this orange toned bronzer for such a long time. Especially now that I have lighter hair, this bronzer just doesn’t look good. Instead of this I now use the Benefit Hoola Caramel which has a much more neutral undertone.

As always, I hope you enjoyed this post and learning about the products I won’t buy again. If you guys have read my blog for some time, I am sure you will have seen these mentioned countless times. Just because they are mentioned in this post, doesn’t mean that they are bad products. It simply means that I have moved on and something bigger and better has replaced it in my collection. To the items that I have mentioned, I will add a link below in case you would like to check them out for yourself. Leave me a comment below and let me know if there are any products you won’t buy again.
