A couple of weeks ago I was digging through my makeup collection, trying to shop my stash. That was when I came across the Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze and Glow. I can remember many years ago when my Charlotte Tilbury obsession first began. At the time, it was a new brand, and I was hooked on them. To be honest, I think it was the packaging that got me hook, line and sinker.
Everything looked so luxurious, and I needed it all. One of the first products that I purchased was the Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze and Glow. It was a pricey item, and I used it almost to death. That is why I cannot believe that I have never reviewed it here on my site. So, without further ado, here is my review of the Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze and Glow palette.
Why I wanted this item initially.
As I mentioned above, the thing that got me hooked was the packaging. At the time when Charlotte Tilbury first launched, I was in love with the brand, and I had to try everything out. This was obviously before she started churning through her launches and creating everything called ‘Pillow Talk’. I wouldn’t be able to afford keeping up with the number of launches she does this day. Anyway, back then she maybe released a new item every few months and whenever she did, I always ran straight to her website and bought it. It was no different with the Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze and Glow palette.

The shades available.
The thing that has always stuck in my throat about the Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze and Glow is that there are only two shades available. The two colorways are very different in terms of depth of colour and undertone. The lightest palette is for very fair skin the deeper palette is for medium/deep. Out of the two, I opted for the lightest and I find the highlighter is perfect for me, but sometimes (depending on my tan), the contour is far too light. However when I tried the deeper palette I found the undertone of both the highlight and contour too deep for my skin.
Â
How I use the item.
For the most part, it is the contour shade that I use more than anything else. Plus, I tend to use this as the last and final step in my makeup routine. Once all of my makeup is on and in place, including my bronzer, I will take this product. Normally I take a small amount of the contour shade on a precise brush and just go in under the cheekbones, right where I wish there was a natural shadow. On days where I am going a little heavier with my makeup, I will take the highlighter and just use a very light dusting to help accentuate.
Â
How it looks on the skin.
I don’t have a negative thing to say about how this product appears on the skin. It is a powder, so naturally the more you use, the heavier it will appear. But I take both the highlighter and contour shade on a big blending brush, and it has never looked anything other than perfection. The colours always have great pay off, yet it never looks too intense. This is a product designed to enhance the skin and I would certainly say that it does that flawlessly. I now look forward to applying this in a morning because of how great it looks on the skin.

How it compares to similar items.
The most similar item that I have used to the Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze and Glow in recent years has to the be Dior Contour Palette. I got the Dior palette because I wanted something with a slightly deeper tone that would be more visible on my skin. It does the job perfectly. But since rediscovering the Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze and Glow, I have to admit that I love the tone of the tones in this palette so much more. I think the shades are more pigmented than the Dior and longer lasting.
As always, I hope you guys enjoyed this blog post. The Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze and Glow palette really is a lovely item. I am really glad I rediscovered it a couple of weeks ago. With my much softer makeup these days, this palette is ideal for enhancing my makeup. Whereas I used to find that this was not pigmented enough, I now find that it is the most perfectly balanced item. I think now that I am back on board, I may throw my Dior Contour Palette to the curb. As always, I will pop a link to this below if you would like to check it out for yourself.
