To lighten the mood after my last blog post, today I am sharing my favourite movies I always rewatch. I have spoken before about movies here on my blog before and that is because I love them. For me, it is such an escape going to the cinema and shutting off for a few hours. For somebody like me with OCD and anxiety, it gives me a chance to fully unplug.
I even go to the cinema around twice a week, most of the time alone. I just love sitting there and sinking into a new movie. However, this post is all about the films that I adore and watch to death. These tend to be the easy watching films that are more of a comfort to me than a brain stimulating action packed film.
Da Vinci Code movies.
The first of my favourite movies that I always rewatch is the Da Vinci codes. Now I know what you are thinking but trust me with this one. I am obsessed with history. So even though these may not be 100% accurate, they still get the history buff within me going. There is just something about watching Professor Robert Langdon running around a city in trouble that makes me happy. I have to say that the second movie in the franchise, Angels and Demons, and I think that it is because it is my favourite city in the world, Rome.

Jurassic Park films.
Where do you even start. The Jurassic Park films are certainly some of my favourite movies that I always watch. Growing up, I was obsessed with dinosaurs and when I got old enough, my dad introduced me to Jurassic Park. I say old enough, I was probably 7 or so at the time, but that was old enough to him. Then, the Gods blessed us by putting Chris Pratt in a tight white t-shit getting all sweaty and the movies got even better. I am still hooked on them, and the classic theme tune gets me so happy whenever I hear it!
Â
Harry Potter franchise.
Every single winter without fail, I will watch the Harry Potter franchise the whole way through. There is something comforting about these movies that makes me feel so relaxed and happy. Even though the first movie is almost 20 years old, I still get taken back to when I was just a little 7-year-old girl in the cinema with a bucket of popcorn on my knee. I can remember thinking when I was in my teenage years that I couldn’t be an old person still watching a film about school kids, but I don’t care less!
Â
Marvel Cinematic Universe.
I grew up with Marvel, I was in my early teenage years when the first Iron Man movies first came out. I watched these movies the very moment that they were released, and I adore them. They take me back to a certain time in my life and I think that movies can really encompass and define a specific stage in somebodies’ life. For me, my personal favourites have to be anything that include the glorious Chris Hemsworth. Ragnarök is my go-to marvel movie!
Star Wars movies.
The nerd within me will always adore Star Wars. I think that the main thing with these movies is that they are so nostalgic for me. I can remember when I was much younger, my grandad sat me down and watched them all with me. We literally went right back to the start and watched them all in the order that they were released. I was hooked and I loved that Star Wars became our thing. To this day, if I am missing him more than normal, it is a duvet day and Star Wars on repeat.
Â
Disney films.
I am certainly one of those cringey Disney adults and I don’t care about it. My personal favourites are Hercules, Aladdin, Moana and Tangled. I watch them all on repeat. Know every single line to the dialogue and the songs. I have no regrets and I will continue to watch and adore them. Honestly, I think that at the moment Moana has to be my favourite and I feel like I belt the songs out better than the main character. Once a little girl in Waitrose said that I have hair like Moana and it made my day!
I hope that you guys liked learning my favourite movies I always rewatch. I know that I have shared some of these same ones before, but that just shows that I love them. The narrative of the movies may not be very deep, but I love them. They work for me, make me happy and that is what I need. You can guarantee that over the weekend, I will watch at least one movie that fits into these categories. As always, I would love to hear from you guys. Please leave me a comment below. Let me know some of your favourite movies, especially the ones that you can watch on repeat and never get bored of them. I probably need to branch out at some point and watch some new/classic movies!
