Louis Vuitton Neverfull Handbag Review

 

Where do I even start when it comes to talking about the incredible Louis Vuitton Neverfull handbag? I can remember when I was growing up, only around the age of 8, this was the ‘it’ handbag of the generation and I was desperate to get my hands on it. As a young child, instead of buying Smash Hits magazine, I would buy Vogue. Back in the noughties, this handbag was on near enough every other page and it only made me want it more. Needless to say, as soon as I started earning my own money, I knew that this was the first designer bag that I would be adding to my collection. Here I am, almost a decade after first picking up this amazing Louis Vuitton item and I still love it just as much as I did back then.

 

Why I wanted this bag?

I guess the first thing that I really need to touch on is why I actually wanted this item. By the time I had the cash to purchase this bag, I could have bought anything. This Louis Vuitton Neverfull was the item that stuck in my mind. I wanted something that was practical, big enough to use for work and that looked chic. There was a spell where I was worried about the brand because of all the counterfeiting that happens, but I knew with how I wore it, it would be fine. In the end, I went into store to get more of a feel for them. I wanted to make sure that it would find a home in my closet. Little did I know that the same day I would be purchasing the item and I have been in love ever since.

 

The size of the handbag?

This Louis Vuitton Neverfull handbag is available in two various sizes, the GM and the PM. I went with the larger version, the PM, because I know that I am the kind of person that travels heavy at all times. Whether I am going to work, nipping to the shops or travelling internationally, you can be assured that I have everything inside my handbag for every single eventuality. Which means that I need an incredibly large bag to house everything safely. There has never been an occasion where the bag couldn’t house everything that I was trying to stuff inside it and for that I am truly grateful. I will admit that sometimes this handbag is that large that I do feel like I am taking people out with it, but I just try to be as careful as possible!

 

How do I feel about the monogramme?

One thing that I am going to touch on very lightly here is the monogramme of the handbag. As I am sure you guys are aware, Louis Vuitton for a very long time has been using their classic monogramme in the traditional brown leather for a number of years. I feel like in this day and age, people are really divided about whether ‘in your face’ branding is acceptable. Personally, I do not have any kind of problem when it comes to branding or monogramme. I think that it all really comes down to how you wear an item and what you pair it with, to whether it looks chic or not. I certainly wouldn’t wear this handbag with clashing or bold prints, but with my normal neutral outfits, I think that this is the perfect addition.

 

The practicality of the handbag?

I have already mentioned the size of the handbag and how much I adore that I bought the larger size of the Neverfull, but not I want to talk about the practicality of the item. One thing that I do have to mention in regard to the size it can be a little cumbersome if you are travelling and you need to stuff it under a seat, but that is more on me than the handbag. When I bought this item back in 2012, it was a fairly standard thing and you did not get the small pouch that you get inside the newer version, which makes it just a huge bucket of a bag. It was a little hard to find things quickly, so I bought a bag insert and that made things a whole lot easier and made it the most practical handbag!

 

The durability of the bag?

The truth about this Louis Vuitton handbag is that it is I have really put it to the test in the decade that I have owned it and I can safely say that this item is near on indestructible. I have other stuffed this handbag, used it to transport my laptop, used it for travel, had it out in the pouring rain, taken it to filthy festivals and it always seems to look as good as new. I feel like the canvas that the bag is made from is known to be an incredibly durable material. The interior is still in perfect condition too because I am the kind of gal that always uses a bag insert, so when that is removed this looks as good as new. I will say that the handles have tarnished, but I wouldn’t expect anything else!

 

Would I recommend this item?

I think that just by reading this blog post it is probably incredibly obvious to you guys that I would 100% recommend this Louis Vuitton Neverfull handbag. When you buy designer items, I feel like it is always a gamble as to whether it is going to fit into your lifestyle and get your moneys worth out of the item. Since I bought this handbag, I have reached for it more than anything else in my collection and that only makes me love it more. I even adore that this handbag looks aged and worn, because it just shows the love and how much I have used the item over the years. Not to mention that I really do feel like I have put this amazing Louis Vuitton handbag through the ringer over the years and it still looks amazing!

 

I feel like after this blog post, it is more than obvious to you guys that this is an item that I truly love and adore, the quality is second to none, the longevity of the item is amazing and for me, this is a timeless item. Like I mentioned above, I know that some people do have an issue in this day and age with the obvious branding with the Louis Vuitton monogramme, but I think that this is an amazing item that has a truly timeless design. I think that if you have been thinking about making this splurge for some time and this is the designer bag that is at the top of your wishlist, go for it. Fashion is all about personal choice and I still love to wear this beautiful item with pride because it is the ultimate classic handbag!
