Here on my site, I have shared the odd post about Merit Beauty before. For a long time, this was a brand that I perved over online, but I never invested because it was near on impossible to get your hands on here in the UK. However, the moment that they implemented international shipping on their site, you can bet your ass that I was on their site with a basket full of products.
One of the items that I picked up was the Merit Bronze Balm. A cream bronzer in a stick form that when I saw people using it online, looked incredibly easy and straightforward to use. Today, I am going to sit down and share with you guys my full review on this product.
Â
Why I wanted this product.
As I mentioned above, when I was first able to purchase from Merit, I was able to go ahead and buy myself a nice little hoard of item. For me, that included their complexion sticks, lip oil and this Merit Beauty Bronze Balm. Since then, I have been integrating this into my routine and putting it through its paces. Now that it has been a good few month, I finally feel ready to sit down and share with you guys my entire thoughts on the product.
Â
The packaging.
This Merit Beauty Bronze Balm is a cream product that is in a twist up stick format. Very similar on face value to the Rare Beauty Bronzing Cream. A product which I have raved about many times here on this site. For me, I adore a stick product, mainly because I am incredibly lazy. It takes no effort to apply and I think a stick is absolutely fantastic for when you are out and about or travelling. You do sometimes have to be careful not to knock the top of the item on the cap of the product.
Â
How it looks on the skin.
For this item, I take the stick and literally scribble it over the areas where I want to appear a little more bronzed. From there, I will take my It Cosmetics Double Ended Brush and gently begin to buff that into the skin. It takes minimal blending and within seconds looks like my skin has been airbrushed. When it comes to how this product applies and buffs out, I have no qualms in the slightest. Plus on face value, I think it does wonders for bringing warmth back into my skin.
Â
The longevity.
Many times, when I am reviewing an item, I bang on about how long it lasts on the skin. When I apply my makeup, I like to know that the products I am applying are going to be on, stay in place and not move throughout the day. When I have used this Merit Beauty Bronze Balm, once it is blended out and set with powder, I know that it is going to be in place and not move around. However, one thing that I did notice with this item was that if I wasn’t cautious when setting it, it could displace when I was covering it over in powder.
Â
How it compares to other items.
Over the years, I have shared hell of a lot about different cream bronzers. I love nothing more than bringing dimension back into the skin after applying my foundation and concealer. With that said, I have put many of them through their paces over the years, some of which have become firm favourites. With that said, I have to look at this Merit Beauty Bronze Balm with a critical eye. When I think about it in comparison to Rare Beauty, Lys and Hourglass, I can’t confidently say that it matches up in terms of quality.
As always, I hope you guys enjoyed this post and learning more about this Merit Beauty Bronze Balm. Honestly, I do think that this is a nice item, but the truth is that there are other products on the market which are very similar and, in many ways, just as good, if not better. I know that I will continue to use this to completion, but I doubt that I would go ahead and buy another.
I will add a comment to this product below for you to check out for yourself. Leave me a comment and let me know if you’ve tried this Merit Beauty Bronze Balm or if you would want to give it a whirl for yourself.
