Chanel is a brand that I have always adored. I believe that Chanel was one of the flagship brands that really ignited my love high-end fashion. I used to flick through Vogue magazine and cut out all of the Chanel items and the classic CC logo. Then, I would stick it onto a pinboard that hung over my bed. That must have been my early method of manifestation. The older that I got, the more I came to terms with never owning anything from the brand. I learnt how high the price tags were and as a girl from a working-class background, it felt out of reach. It was only as I got older, I began saving and shopping smartly that I realised that it was achievable. Never did I think that I would have a collection to share with people. So, without further ado, here is my Chanel collection.
Chanel Slingbacks.
I am starting this blog post with the only pair of shoes that I am going to mention. I do have a couple of other from Chanel, but the winners for me are the slingbacks. After seeing them on a runway show many years ago, I hated them. I thought that they were shoes for an old lady and I would never wear them. Around 3 months later I was texting my Chanel sales associate to ask if they had any instore that I could go and pick up. Since getting them, I have worn them more than I care to mention. If it is a dry summers day, there is a high chance that these will be on my feet!

Chanel Double Flap Bags.
Shoes out of the way, it is time to talk about the classic. I have loved the Double Flap Bag for as long as I have loved Chanel. Back when I was younger, you would see all of the top celebrities carrying different colours and sizes of this handbag. Never did I think that I would own one of them, never mind six of them. Even though these are incredibly expensive handbags, I love and wear then just like I would any other brand. With an item like the Chanel Double Flap Bag, they are meant to be worn. No matter when I am doing, I opt for these wonderful items and I pinch myself whenever I pick one up.

Chanel 19 Bags.
When a new Chanel release comes out, I am always sceptical. It can be so hard to distinguish what will be a new classic and what will be a fleeting trend. I always stay away from trend pieces and I try to make well informed decisions. However, I really wanted to add this to my Chanel collection. I initially went with a smaller nude. Then I saw a large black tweed. Next I went ahead and got a houndstooth pattern. I love the style and always look forward to using the Chanel 19 bag because I feel like it suits me and my style so well.
Â
Chanel XXL Flap Bag.
A couple of years back, when Chanel did their airport fashion show, they released the XXL Flap Bags. To begin with, I thought that they were quite brash, however I quickly fell in love. There are so many occasions where I want a large handbag and my normal Chanel bags just wont cut it. Since getting the XXL, I have used it for pretty much everything. It can be a work bag, travel bag or even a nappy bag if needed. Yes, it is a very over the top item, but ever so stunning at the same time!
Â
Chanel Boy Bag.
Initially, the Boy Bag was something the I never really hoped on board with. However, I was then heavily influenced by ‘Sincerely Jules’, on Instagram. She had a Chanel Boy Bag but in a muted nude colour and it was all suede. I searched high and low for it on the second-hand market. Then a whole year later, I found it. Within my Chanel collection, this is a great item for when I want something that looks less formal. Because it is a full suede construction, it is rather soft and can be easily manipulated and I adore that. Not to mention that it was more than half price!
Â
Chanel Trendy Bag.
I reached a point where I thought that my Chanel collection was complete. That was when I saw the Chanel Trendy Bag. I feel like this really rocketed in popularity in around 2020 and I fell in love. Everything about the Chanel Trendy handbag just screamed that it was a modern classic. I immediately spoke to my sales associate, and she hooked me up. The reason why I felt like I needed this handbag was because I wanted something for more formal occasions. As much as I love the Chanel Double Flap and 19, they are pretty informal or pretty large. This is my ideal bag for fancier occasions or when I want a Chanel on the smaller side.
I hope that you guys enjoyed seeing my Chanel collection. As I mentioned above, I did not write this post to brag. Never did I think that I would own one item from the brand, never mind as many as I do. However, I will also not feel bad for having quite a large collection. I work incredibly hard, and I am very smart with my money. To some people you will think that me spending this kind of money on handbags is foolish, but once you learn about the resale value, you would quickly change your mind. Chanel is a brand that I know I will continue to adore. However, with the insane price increases, I don’t know how much more I would feel confident purchasing from them. I would love to hear from you on this. Do you like Chanel and do you long for anything from them?
