One thing that I have been asked numerous times over the years is all about my engagement ring. You guys may have seen it before. However, for those of you which are unfamiliar, I have a Morganite engagement ring. I was proposed to with this back in 2018 and I still love it now, just as much as I did back then. As much as I do believe my husband did a good job, it wasn’t without a little guidance from myself. I knew the style ring that I wanted and what the stone should be. So, I thought that for todays blog post, I would break down some of the most asked questions that I get about my engagement ring.
Why I wanted a Morganite engagement ring?
To be incredibly honest with you guys, I didn’t want a diamond because they are so expensive. One of my biggest wishes in life is for me to have dainty hands, however that just isn’t the case for me. So, if I was to get a small diamond ring, for our budget it would look like a teeny tiny dot on my unflatteringly large hands. Whereas, Morganite rings are much lower priced, which means that I could get a larger style that suits my hands more and looks better on me!

How I did my research?
As soon as it was a Morganite engagement ring that I wanted, that I had to do some research. I had seen a couple other people with Morganite, but they didn’t really mention the reason why they opted with that or if there were any things to know about them. I wanted to know if they were hardwearing, do I need to treat it different to a diamond, what is the average lifespan. And so much more. I actually sat down and made a list of questions that I wanted to answer for myself before making my final decision.
Â
How to know a reputable maker.
As mentioned above, my ring was made by somebody on Etsy. When my husband first started looking for somebody to make my ring, he was overwhelmed. There were so many people to look at. For him, he wanted somebody that was either base in the UK or USA. Simply for the reason that conversation would be much easier if both parties were English speakers as their first language, especially when communicating what he wanted. The next most important thing was to then narrow it down by looking at the reviews. Find reputable people, with lots of good reviews, that even handle the negatives in a positive manner.

How it has wore?
As I have mentioned, I got this ring 4 year ago when my now husband proposed to me in Florence. Since that day, I have worn this ring more or less every single day. My only comment about how this ring has wore is hat I do have to clean it quite regularly. Because it does not have a broad spectrum of refraction like a diamond, it can look a little untidy, quicker. However, I just have a reminder on my phone to once a week to give my ring a little clean with a  toothbrush and soapy water. It cleans up perfect and always looks as good as new.
Â
Do I regret it?
One question that I do often get from people is whether or not I regret going against convention and going with a classic diamond. The truth is, absolutely not. I feel that generally, I do not conform with convention is my day to day life anyway, so why should I with my engagement ring. My ring is always a talking point and I adore that. I do think that in a few years I will treat myself to a new one, but I will still probably go with Mossonite rather than a diamond because they are high quality and hell of a lot cheaper!
I hope that you guys liked this blog post about my Morganite engagement ring. As I mentioned, since first showing my ring on my blog, I have been asked countless questions. When it comes to an engagement ring, I really do believe you should have a say in. At the end of the day, you are the one that should wear it for the rest of your life. It needs to be to your taste. I would love to hear from you guys in the comments below. What do you think of this ring? Would you just stick to the standard diamond?
