This blog post is going to be an ode to the Nars All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation. A couple of months back where I shared with you that Nars had decided to discontinue this product. I even messaged them on Instagram to ask them why it was disappearing from every website. Then they confirmed the news.

I wrote a blog post to share my disgust with the world and I asked you guys for your recommendations. I did try out so many other foundations. As amazing as they were, they just didn’t match up to this item. I stopped using the bottle of the Nars All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation and I wanted to keep it for special occasions. I have now finished the bottle and I wanted to pay tribute.

For me, the reason why this foundation really stood out was because of how lightweight it was. I do like to go for medium to full coverage because of my hyperpigmentation. Up until trying this Nars foundation, I thought that meant that my foundation had to be heavy. This foundation really changed the game for me. I fell in love with this item from the very first moment that I have it a whirl. Since then, I have used this foundation pretty much every single day (other than when I am reviewing an item). Never have I had any faults, nor have I ever wished I had used another product. Normally I am quite fickle when it comes to my base products, but this changed all that.

This is the foundation that I have worn to so many of the big important moments. Including my wedding, being maid of honor, special nights out with my friends and so much more. Whenever I wear this foundation, I always know that my makeup is going to look perfect all day long. I don’t need to worry about a makeup meltdown throughout the day. I know that once I put this on in the morning, it is going to stay put and stay for the entire day. Not to mention that I also feel like this foundation is one of those items that just looks better as the day goes on. Plus as natural oils from my skin begin to combine with my foundation. There are few foundations that I feel like this is the case.

I can remember doing blog posts about this in the past. Every single time I would mention it, I feel like it would really divide the audience. Either people would love and adore it as much as myself, or they would be on the other end of the spectrum. For many people it just didn’t work for them or their skin. I feel like this is generally the case for most foundations. However, I feel like this Nars All Day Luminous Foundation really divided audiences more than any other product that I have tried. The only negative that I could see in this product is that it is slightly oily. This means that if you have a bottle for a long time it can begin to separate. Nothing that a good shake cannot fix.

I don’t want to harp on much more in this blog post. It simply is not needed for a product that is no longer on the market. The departure of this Nars All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation just felt like the end of an era for me and my makeup history. This was one of the foundations that really helped me to get into makeup because it made me realise just how transformative makeup could be and that I can hide my imperfections and give myself a true blank canvas to work on.
