It is time for a new blog post and this is going to be all about an item that has really shocked the hell out of me. Today I am going to chat with you about the NYX 3 Steps to Sculpt Palette. I can remember seeing this in Boots one day and I just decided to pick it up on a whim.  Up to that point, I had been using the Kat Von D Shade and Light palette. But I was just finding that the pans were running out super quick and it was costing me an arm and a leg. This is why I was grateful to try out a new product like this NYX 3 Steps to Sculpt palette.

What I use this item for?

I have been using this palette for quite some time now. I feel like I have really nailed down what I use each of the shades for. Starting with the lighter yellow shade, I use this for setting my eyelid primer, highlighting underneath my eyes. I also reverse contour around the face and brighten up the deep corners of my eyes. For the contouring shade, I like to take this on my Tom Ford Crème Brush and use this along my jawline, cheekbones, down the sides of my nose. I may then take it into the crease of my eyes. I use the highlighter if I am pushed, but the only real time that I will use this is to highlight my chest on a summer’s day.

What are the downfalls of this item?

Even though from my first little section you will have guessed that I do really love this item. For me there are a couple of things that are negatives and that I would change if I was given the chance. For a start, I would bin off the highlighting shade. Even though I have used that on the odd occasion, such as if I want to travel light. But it isn’t my favourite, I primarily just use the yellow shade for underneath my eyes and the contour shade. Secondly, the pans of product are pretty slim. That means that you run out of product pretty quickly and they can be pretty fragile to start with. The third thing has to be the shape of the pans, because they are a weird semi-circle.

What is the pigmentation like?

Something that is incredibly important to me when I am reviewing products, is the level of pigmentation. For most products that I am putting on my face, I want them to have a good level of pigmentation. And I want them to be as they were described in the marketing material. To be honest, I couldn’t really find anything online about the level of pigmentation for these items. But I would say that they are pretty sheer and they can be built up to be more of a medium coverage. That is ideal for me. I go in with this product once I have already set my face with my normal setting powder. I don’t want anything with additional coverage, I just want the benefit of the colour.

Would I recommend this to others?

This is always a super hard one for me to answer. I think that something that I may spend money on comfortably, maybe incredibly different for other people. The long and short of this review is that I adore this item. I believe that is shows amazing value for money. As I mentioned, before I used to religiously use the Kat Von D Shade and Light Palette. Honestly, I really do think that this is a strong comparison product and I love reaching for it and what it does to my makeup each and every single time. For that reason, I do think that I would advise you to go out and give this a go if you are looking for a powder highlighter and contour product, I don’t think that you would regret it, I know that I certainly have not.

I hope that you guys liked this blog post. And learning a little about this NYX 3 Steps to Sculpt Palette. I feel like when you buy and wear as much makeup as I do. It is not very often that you try out a palette like this and it becomes such a staple in your collection. I think that for the price point, this is a great item. One that I know I will continue to use for many moons. Like I mentioned, my only qualm is that the pans run out pretty quickly. Plus, they are quite fragile. I would love to see this without the highlighter in the future!
