If you are a makeup lover like me, you will have heard of Pillow Talk. I mean, how could you not have done?

Back in 2013, I hadn’t been blogging for long. I probably had 12 months experience of beauty writing under my belt and then Charlotte Tilbury came crashing onto the scene. Almost instantly I fell in love with all of the products and I placed a huge order. It was the stunning vintage feel packaging that captivated me to begin with. But very quickly after getting my hands on the items I realised the sublime quality.

I was hooked from them and I decided to try out more items. Next on my list after multiple base products, was their lipsticks. To be specific, there was one lipstick that I wanted, and you’ve guessed it… I wanted the shade Pillow Talk.

It was this stunning natural pink shade that looked great. I can remember receiving it, falling in love, posting about it and telling everybody in my life that they needed to get their hands on it too. But at the same time, the same shade was taking the rest of the world by storm.

Following the success of the original Pillow Talk lipstick, I can remember getting an email to say that they were expanding the shade range and adding in a deeper tone to the Pillow Talk range. I thought it was a fantastic step for people of colour who found the original shade too light. But from there, it seems like the CT team went crazy with the amount of pillow talk products they were releasing.

Even now, all of these years later, all of their new releases seem to be Pillow Talk related. Whether it is a party collection of items, new products, etc. In this list are just SOME of the Pillow Talk branded products in the Charlotte Tilbury range,,,

Original lipstick, medium lipstick, Hollywood Glide Highlighter, Lip Kit, Beauty Light wand, Matte Blush Wand, Cheek Glow, Beautifying Face Palette, Push Up Mascara, Party Look, Party Eyes Look, Push Up Eye Kit, Lips and Dream Lashes kit, Glow and Blush kit, eyeshadow palette, cheek to chic blush, kisses collection, eye wands, luxury palette, eyeliner, Crystal Dimension Eyeliner, Eye and Cheek Gilded Kit, Superstar Lips, Jewel Lips, Lip Cheat, Lip Listure, Palette of Pops, Eyes To Mesmerise, Hyalauranic Happikiss, Collagen Lip Bath, Instant Eye Palette… These are just a few items, without including all of the bundles that include the phrase ‘Pillow Talk‘.

I am all for brands capitalising on their best-selling products. At the end of the day, I do recognise that they are a business and they need to make money. But I feel like this brand that was once one of my favourite makeup brands is getting a little lazy with their releases. Instead of being excited for their new releases I am just finding myself wondering what new peachy/pink product they are going to release with the word ‘Pillow Talk’ plastered across it.

Let me know what you think about the Pillow Talk revolution in the comments below. As I mentioned, some of the products are lovely. The brand is named after an amazing celebrity makeup artist, and I just want to see more from the products. Good examples with this are brands such as Vieve, Pat McGrath and Makeup by Mario. Are you still 100% here for it? Or do you think that it has had its day? And is it time to reinvigorate the brand with something new?
