I have shared with you guys many times here on my blog that my home is my world. After growing up in a single parent household, we had to move around a lot. Nowhere really felt like home for a very long time and I knew that I wanted that to change. When my husband and I decided to purchase a home, we decided to be over ambitious. We wanted a house that we could grow into and really make our own. After years of decorating and working hard, our house is nearly complete. Because of that, I wanted to take this moment to share with you my favourite areas in my home. These are some of the special rooms that I feel wonderfully at home in.

The lounge.

The first room in the house that we worked on was our lounge. For us, our home is a little untraditional in the fact that our lounge is on the second floor. It is also very large and open space. We weren’t sure that to do with the space, however we are thrilled with it now. We created a chimney breast, decorated the nooks and then furnished the space. Everything in this space was far too expensive, but now that it is all complete, it looks wonderful. Now, we are just finding more finishing touches and then it will be done.

Our snug.

When we first got the keys to our house, it had an in-built garage on the ground floor. As practical as it was, it was generally just a waste of space. We eventually converted the space into a room. That was until our neighbour across the street crashed their car straight into the room. Low and behold, we had start again. Now, the space (including reinforced outer wall) is complete, and I adore it. It is a much more relaxed space than our formal lounge. It contains a large corner sofa, a big TV and a gallery wall. Simple, yet very cosy and homely.

Our bedroom.

For our bedroom, I knew that I wanted to create a very peaceful space. I wanted an area where I could fully relax and unwind. We completely changed the space from top to bottom. We added wall accents in panelling, additions to the built-in wardrobe doors. Then, it all came down to the furniture. For a while we had some cheap items from Wayfair, but we upgraded to a wonderful French bed and matching bedside tables. Now, it is a tranquil yet very boujee place and I completely adore the space. It took a long time to get here, but it was a costly job!

The entryway.

As soon as I walked into my home, I wanted my house to feel amazing. When you walk into our home, you go into an entryway and that space, I wanted to make feel tranquil while representing the décor throughout the house. The space is lovely and bright, with chunky wood accents throughout. We have a large mirror on the wall to help reflect the light, a console table with a lamp on and a rugger throughout. It is a very simple space, but one that I always love walking into after a day at work.

My dressing room.

Growing up, I always dreamed of having a dressing room. I saw lots of spaces on Pinterest before we got the keys to our home and I knew that I wanted to create a special space. In my dressing room, I now have a tranquil space where I can work, get ready and get dressed. I have a lovely desk space that gives me plenty of space to write posts, do my makeup and god knows what else. Then there is all the shelfing from Ikea where I can display my bags, shoes and everything else. It is a wonderful space that I truly adore!

As always, I hope that you guys liked learning my favourite areas in my home. My home really is special to me. It has taken a lot of hard work, effort and time to get it to where it is today. When we got the keys to our first house, we had nothing. We were starting completely from scratch. No furniture, no décor and to be honest, not a lot of money. I am so proud of where we have gotten. I am sure as the years go by, there will be things that I want to adjust and change, but they will simply be small tweaks As always, I would love to hear from you guys about this. What are your favourite areas in your house and why? And what do you make of my favourite areas in my home?
