I don’t think that there has ever been a period in my life where I have liked my eyebrows up until recently that is. When I was a kid, they were enormous. Even in my early teenage years, my mum would wrestle me down and pluck away. Plus, because I am a child of the nineties, when I was growing up, the thin brow was the main trend. So, for some time, I did pluck them, pretty thin. Then people like Cara Delavigne came onto the scene and all of a sudden big brow made a revival. Over the years, my eyebrows have been on quite a journey. Over the years I have switched them around so much and put them through hell. Now, they are at a place where I am happy with them. I thought I would share with you how I got fuller brows.

Stopped plucking.

I think the first thing that really must be done if you want to grow them out is to stop plucking. I used to think that I was just tidying them up where it was needed. But I very quickly can get a little too close and too carried away. Now, I have put the tweezers in a locked box and I don’t go near them unless it is absolutely necessary. That means that my brows may look a little unruly at times, but at least they aren’t going to end up like tadpoles again!

Used Revitabrow.

I really didn’t want to look at this to begin with because I was so expensive. I didn’t understand what a product like this could do to help the brows on my face. However, after picking I up and using I just for a couple of weeks, I noticed a massive difference. Everywhere that I applied this, I got new hair growth pretty quickly. Because the hairs at the tail of my brow are sparse, I primarily used this there and it made a huge difference. It is hella expensive and I didn’t want to love it, but I do!

Used good quality brow products.

For many years, I have used cheap and cheerful eyebrow products. To me, I thought that they were all made equal. When I would use eyebrow pencils for example, I couldn’t tell a difference between my £4 one from NYX and the £26 Dior Brow Styler. However, after exclusively using my higher value items for some time, I have recognised a massive difference. My brows since making this switch do seem to grow better and I also don’t seem to lose them as frequently. Which I know may sound strange!

Position the hairs meticulously.

Even when my eyebrows were too thin for my liking, I would lay them down like a fine art. I would use with my Refy Brow Sculpt or the Anastasia Brow Gel and take my time brushing the hairs upwards and get them looking perfect. I really had to do this towards the tail of my brows where they do taper and look pretty thin. Just by laying down the hairs that I do already have, I can mimic the look like I have the perfect supermodel brows where they grow effortlessly and perfectly. It does take hell of a lot of time though!

Went to a professional.

Next on getting fuller brows is going somwhere where they know what they are doing. I don’t know where I would be or what I would look like without my brow lady. As I mentioned, stopping plucking really helped thicken them. However, I am a pretty hairy person naturally and my brows quickly got out of control. They grow like wildfire. Now, every 8 weeks I get my eyebrows tidied up. Sometimes I get them waxed to remove the stragglers that grow everywhere and sometimes she just plucks. I may even get lamination every now and again for something new. However, they have to be seriously trimmed if they are going to be laid upwards.

As always, I hope that you guys enjoyed reading this blog post. When I mentioned to my friend the other day the eyebrow journey that I have been on, she looked at me like I had two heads. She acted like Kourtney when Kim lost her diamond earring in the sea. Like, “Danielle, there are people dying and you are here rambling on about your eyebrows”. I do get it; trust me I do. However, eyebrows are a big deal. You have no choice but to wear them everyday and they are right there for people to see. Yes, you can alter them with makeup, but what you are working with underneath has to be a good base. As always, I would love to hear from you guys on this. Have you ever had to grow your brows out? If so, how did you get fuller brows?
