A couple of weeks ago, I shared a post with you guys all about some of my favourite makeup products from Dior. However, while I was writing that post I quickly realised that I have never done a deep dive into one of my most loved items by Dior, the iconic Dior Forever Foundation.

In this post, I am going to break down my thoughts on the Dior Forever Foundation, why I enjoy it and how I use it. Plus, I will dive into how it compares to some of my other foundations from my collection.

 

 

Why I initially bought this foundation.

Back in the day, the initial reason why I bought this foundation was because I was seeing endless things about it online. I had often wondered myself if it was worth picking up, but I didn’t bite the bullet until I began to see the reviews roll in. It really was a snowball effect. Some influencers began using it and then before I knew it, this Dior Forever Foundation was taking the world by storm. Everybody and their mothers was using it and naturally I had to try it out for myself.

 

The packaging.

Look, I know that some people don’t understand why I talk so much about packaging, but I think that it is important. If I am paying a premium price for a product, I want it to look good. I know that it always comes down to the formula inside and how it performs, but as an aesthetic kind of person, it is a very important thing for me. With this Dior Forever Foundation, the packaging itself ticks all of the boxes. It is sleek, looks just as good as other items on my shelves and I couldn’t wish for more.

 

The shade range.

As with most things that Dior has done recently within the cosmetics sector of their business, the shade range just hits. There is a great selection of shades with a fantastic range of undertones. Almost instantly I was able to find the right shade for me and it works probably better than some of the other foundations that I have been using and loving for years. I also find that it is really adaptable and I can always make the shade work depending on how tan/pale I am.

 

The coverage.

For me, I think that straight off the bat with one light layer, this Dior Forever Foundation is around a medium coverage foundation. However, if I allow it to dry down for just a moment, I can easily build it up to get higher coverage areas. Which I only typically do where I feel like I need the extra coverage, for example on the hyperpigmentation on my cheeks. This is a foundation that you can really alter to your personal preferences in terms of coverage.

 

The consistency.

This Dior Forever Foundation is a very liquid feel foundation. It actually reminds me somewhat of the Nars All Day Luminous Foundation that was once my all-time favourite. I love that even though this is a very lightweight and watery consistency, it is still able to pack a punch with the level of coverage. It is probably one of the nicest consistencies that I have tried in a foundation for a number of years.

 

How it lasts on the skin.

Often here on my site when I am reviewing product, I talk about the fact that I need my makeup to be applied at 6am in the morning and stay in place until I am ready to take it off at the end of the day. Since owning this Dior Forever Foundation, I have really put it through the ringer. It can cope with the long hours. Very hot summers day where my makeup wants to melt from my skin. And wet winter days where my makeup takes a beating. No matter what, this always looks amazing.

 

How it compares to other foundations.

As I am sure you guys know already know that I am somewhat a fiend for hoarding foundations. I have a collection that could rival the shelves of Sephora and I have put all of them through their paces. When I think about the Dior Forever Foundation in comparison to some of my old favourites, it holds up valiantly. Whether that is in comparison to the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation or the Nars Radiant Longwear. It is always a winner that looks amazing.
