It is time for a new beauty review and today I am going to be speaking about the Nars Climax Mascara. Before you say it, I know I am late onto the bandwagon with this mascara. It was released years ago, but I am rubbish when it comes to reviewing mascara. I have been so stuck in my ways with my Maybelline Lash Sensational, that I have literally avoided trying anything else.

Plus, I have always struggled when it comes to high-end mascaras. In all honesty, I have always struggled to see how they vary so much from the high-street alternatives. But needless to say, when I was ready to try something new, I decided to opt for the cult classic Nars Climax Mascara.

Why I wanted this mascara.

As mentioned above, I have always slept on mascaras. They all seem so similar, and I can n

ever justify spending so much money on a high-end product. However, as you may know I have gone through a rather recent love affair with Nars, and I thought about trying something other than their base products. For that reason, I decided to start with something that has been a cult classic from the brand and that was why I went ahead and picked up the Nars Climax Mascara.

The wand.

I have to speak about wands whenever talking about a mascara. That is because I am so fussy when it comes to a mascara wand. I hate the ones that are super spikey and look like they could stab you. Some people love them because they are really good at separating. But personally, I love a fluffy wand to a mascara and fortunately, that is exactly what the Nars Climax Mascara has. There is not much more to say, other than I do really enjoy the wand on this mascara.

The depth of colour.

The first time I went to wear this mascara, I instantly thought it was going to be my new holy grail. That is because as you begin to apply this mascara, the depth of colour is on another level. The dark pigmentation of the black mascara is unlike anything that I had tried before. Other mascaras that I have tried have all been black, but nothing straight out of the gate has been as deep as this. Because of that, I felt like I applied next to no product and my lashes felt much more natural and light.

The staying power.

With any mascara, something important to speak about it the staying power. A mascara may apply beautifully, but if it makes you look like a panda bear it needs to be kicked to the curb. The Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Mascara (volume 1) which was released years ago did that to me. I can remember arriving at work, only an hour after applying it and people looked at me with wide eyes and their jaws on the floor because it looked so bad. Don’t get me wrong, this Nars Climax Mascara is nothing like that. But after a good 8 hours of wear, I did smudge a little under the yes. Plus, when I woke up in a morning I would always have dark under eyes, regardless of how well I took my makeup off the evening before!

Would I repurchase?

As always, the final thing that I am going to mention in the review of this Nars Climax Mascara is whether or not I would repurchase. Sadly, I don’t think that I would go ahead and buy this mascara again. It was nice to try it and give something different a try. But for this kind of money, I expect it to be exceptional and have fantastic longevity. I don’t believe that is the case with this. For that reason, I would rather stick to what I know.

As always, I hope you guys enjoyed this review on the Nars Climax Mascara. It is a great mascara and I think when first applies it is unlike anything else that I have tried. However, throughout the day I cannot deny that this caused smudging underneath my eyes. One day, after a particularly long time out of the house, I ended up looking like a panda. That is never the vibe. As I mentioned, this is not a mascara that I would personally recommend. My tried and true Maybelline is much better in my opinion and only a fraction of the price. If you did want to try this out, I will pop a link to it below. Please do leave me a comment. Let me know your go-to mascara and I will have to try it out for myself.
