It is time for a new beauty review and today I am going to be discussing the Huda Beauty Easy Bake Powder in the shade Pound Cake. For a long time, this powder has been an incredibly popular item. More recently TikTok really blew up the shade Pound Cake for being incredibly brightening under the eyes.
I tried to tell myself that I didn’t need to add another setting powder to my ever-growing makeup collection, but it played on my mind a little too much. So naturally I had to see for myself if it was worth the money, if it really brightened up the under eyes and how it compares to other similar items.
Why I wanted this item.
The main reason why I wanted this product is to see if it lived up to type. There were so many people talking about this online and I needed to know if it was worth it. There was so many people that seemed to be making out like this was the best product since sliced bread, and I wanted to put it through its paces. Especially because I have been quite negative about Huda products previously and I thought that this might be the item to change my mind.
Â
How I use this item.
Once all of my liquid and cream base products have been applied to the skin, that is when I go in with the Huda Beauty Easy Bake Powder. I will shake it a little to get a small amount in the net. Then I take my Beauty Blender powder puff and I will very carefully place the powder into the areas where I want a little more powder and light. Once it is sat in position, I will leave it for a few minutes while I work on my eyes before dusting it away with a big, fluffy brush.
Â
How it looks on the skin.
When I pat the product into the skin using a powder puff and the wipe it away, there is no denying that the skin looks so fantastic, bright and airbrushed. However, within a short amount of time, the places where I applied the light bake look pretty cakey. Which perhaps should be expected when it comes to a product which is called Easy Bake? If I take a look close up at the skin under my eye, which is normally rather smooth, this product can actually make it appear rather crepey. Which is never the desired look when you are baking the skin!
Â
How it compares to other items.
As I am sure is the case with a few of you guys, I am a sucker for loose powder. They can be so amazingly smoothing and transformative on the skin. Because of that, I had tried so many loose powders which are out there on the market. When I think about the Huda Beauty Easy Bake Powder in comparison to the likes of Laura Mercier Translucent Powder, there is something rather big that sets them apart. For me, that is that I don’t use the Easy Bake all over. I only use it in the brightening areas. Meaning that in my opinion, the Laura Mercier is a much more versatile product.

Would I repurchase this item?
I feel quite split about this product. The first thing really is that from an editorial perspective, this product does make the under eyes look nice. It makes the skin look incredibly bright and in flash photography, that is a god send. However, for an everyday basis and when meeting people face to face, this product is probably a little too much for me. It may be one of those things that I could keep one of, for the odd occasion where I need it, but ultimately it would probably be out of date by the time the tub is finished!
As always, I hope that you guys enjoyed this post on the Huda Beauty Easy Bake Powder. This really is a very nice powder. It is finely milled and feels light as air on the skin. Even though my under eyes do feel very bright whenever I use this powder, I don’t love how dry the skin can look. I find that when I just use my trusty Laura Mercier, my under eyes don’t look as dry as they do when I use the Huda Beauty. As always, I will pop a link to this product below should you want to try it for yourself. Leave me a comment below and let me know if you have tried this, or do you want to get your hands on it?
