It is time for a new beauty review here on my little corner of the internet. Specifically, this post is all about the Benefit Hoola Caramel Bronzer. As you guys may already know, this bronzer has been out on the market now for a number of years. I did want to get my hands on this sooner, but I was harbouring many negative feelings towards the Hoola range.

As I am sure the deeper skin people know, Hoola has always been catered to light skin people. For a long time, I considered Benefit releasing this Caramel bronzer as been too little too late. However, there is no denying that this is a massively popular item. Just like the original Hoola, the Caramel version has a cult following of its own. That is the reason why I am writing you guys this review today.

Benefit Hoola Caramel Bronzer

Why I wanted this bronzer.

So, as I mentioned, in the early days I really did avoid this bronzer. I didn’t want to give Benefit my money when they had isolated such a huge percentage of woman by not catering for their skin tone. However, I wanted this because it is my job. I want to review and share makeup on my blog. Granted, there are going to be times, similar to this situation where I have certain feelings for the brand, but I want to let you know how the products actually perform and if they are worth your cash. I had heard many good things about this Benefit Hoola Caramel Bronzer and I wanted to put it to the test!

The packaging.

Similar to most of the Benefit packaging, this is very simple. The Benefit Hoola Caramel Bronzer is just in a small cardboard box and I can’t describe it much better. Even though it is a noticeable and easy-to-use packaging, I don’t really love it. I use my big ass Tom Ford Bronzer Brush and it is too large to get into the box easily. I feel like this is a general problem as all of the bronzer brushes that I own are on the larger size and I always end up catching the outer bristles.

The shade.

I am not going to speak too much about the shade range of Hoola. Honestly, I could literally speak about that subject forever and a day. As you guys will probably know, the original Hoola shade has been on the market forever. It is a super popular shade, but it only suited people as pale as snow, to white people with a hint of colour. For too long, Benefit thought that it was acceptable to sell just that shade. It just pisses me off. Leaving it until 2020 to expand your range is just too late when you are a multimillion-dollar company. Caramel is bloody brilliant though and that pains me to admit!

The consistency.

One thing that I will say about the Benefit Hoola Caramel Bronzer is that it is quite chalky. I don’t know if some of the other bronzers I have are quite creamy, but this is powdery. You can tell this just by when you put your brush into the product. When you look back into the pan, there is a lot of loose powder which is no longer compressed. It can make the bronzing powder pretty messy to use, but it is something that I got used to. I am not saying that this is necessarily a negative and it wouldn’t prevent me from buying it.

How it compares to my other bronzers.

As I mentioned at the beginning of this blog post, I own far too many bronzers. When it comes to comparing the Benefit Hoola Caramel Bronzer, I really do struggle. Even though this is similar in the tone and the consistency, there is something quite different. I think the thing that really sets this apart in a positive manner is how easy it is to use. The odd time that I have gone in too heavy, it is so easy to work out and get it looking acceptable. With other bronzers that may be a very different story!

I hope that you guys liked this blog post. As I mentioned, I didn’t want to try this because of the appalling shade range up to this point. That been said, I think that this is a fantastic item. The colour is ideal for my medium/tanned skin. It never looks too much on my skin and it seems to have the undertone just perfect. I actually look forward to using this Benefit Hoola Caramel Bronzer. Whenever I reach for this, my makeup looks perfect all day long. As always, I will pop a link to this item below. Please do leave me a comment. Let me know if you have tried this Benefit Hoola Caramel Bronzer and what your thoughts are!
