It is time for a new beauty blog post here on my little space on the internet and today I am going to chat to you guys all about the Charlotte Tilbury Dolce Vita palette, or should I say the Bella Sofia Palette. I can remember when I was first getting into makeup and I was earning enough to place an order with Charlotte Tilbury, this Dolce Vita (Bella Sofia) palette was one of the first items that I purchased because it was incredibly stunning and I was seeing pretty much everybody in the YouTube space using it.
Needless to say, I fell in love with this item and I have had it in my collection ever since, so I thought that it is well overdue me actually sitting down and writing you guys a full review on this item about why I love it so much.
Why did the name change?
Now this is something that I want to start this blog post with because it still confuses me to this day. When this palette was first released onto the market and when it was really soaring in popularity, this was name the Dolce Vita. In more recent years, this was renamed by Charlotte Tilbury to the Bella Sofia palette. I believe at the time there was a statement released by Charlotte Tilbury to say that it was in homage to her two nieces, by using their first names. Honestly, I can only speculate, but I think it is because she was sued for using the name Dolce Vita. I know around the same time, there was another law suit raised against the brand for their Brow Lift, which had shades named after supermodels, without their consent. Again, it is only speculation, but it seems to be about right!

The shades.
The thing that made me fall in love with this palette before I even got my hands on the item was the amazing colours. I have always been a true neutral kind of girl that only ever wears a thousand different shades of brown, it wasn’t until I saw this palette with the beautiful red shade, that I knew that I had to incorporate some more colour into my makeup looks. The light shade is a beautiful wash of colour for the whole lash, the brown is amazing to get a deep smokey look, the red is a beautiful pop of colour and the gold glitter is a wonderful lid topper that makes the other shades look incredible and that is why I adore them all so much.Â
Â
The pigmentation.
Now we know that I am more than in love with the shade combination in this tiny palette. I now want to touch on the level of pigmentation. For me, I want eyeshadows that are pigmented enough that I don’t have to build up layers. I want to get the true colour show up on my skin. However, I also don’t want them to be overly pigmented. To the point that I lightly dip my brush in the product and then I have to spend 3 weeks buffing it out in order for it to look normal. When it comes to the Dolce Vita (Bella Sofia), I think that it really does hit both of these nails on the head.Â
Â
How long they last on the skin.
One thing that I always think about when it comes to eyeshadows. Even when they have an amazing level of pigmentation. Is how they actually last on the skin and perform throughout the day. This is because over the years I have been stung with certain palettes. The colours may apply really well. But, seems to wear off through the day. In other occasions, they apply just as intended. However, through the day, the colours seem to adjust slightly. They oxidise or mix with my natural oils. When it comes to this Charlotte Tilbury palette, I think that every single shade works incredibly well. Even on occasions where I have had my makeup on for 12 hours throughout the day, it stays in place and the colours are beautiful and true.Â
Â
How it pairs with other items.
Something incredibly important whenever it comes to eyeshadow palettes such as this is how it pairs with other makeup items. When I spend the best part of £50 on 4 simple eyeshadows, I want them to pair well with everything. After using the Charlotte Tilbury Dolce Vita (Bella Sofia) palette for almost 5 years at this point. I can honestly say that whatever product I try to combine this with. It always looks amazing and performs very well. Whether that be cream eyeshadows, liquid eyeliners, whatever the product. It is beautiful and you always get the amazing pigmentation of every single one of the shadows. In my opinion, this really is a truly amazing item. That is one of the main reasons why I have used it so consistently, for so many years.
I hope that you guys liked this blog post. If you have been thinking about picking this item up for yourself, go for it. I adore the quality of this. It performs absolutely beautifully. I know that I am going to continue to reach for and use this palette for many years. It was one of the first Charlotte Tilbury items that made me completely fall in love with the brand. As always, I would love to know if you have tried this palette out. Please do leave me a comment down below and let me know what you thought.
