Today, I am going to be sharing a very different post for my little corner on the internet. I am taking a break from my standard scheduled content to share with you guys the wonderful announcement that I am officially an author!

As I am sure you can gather from my site, I am a huge lover of generating written content which pairs beautifully with my love of reading. When I was in my early teenage years, I threw myself into the realm of reading. Thanks to my iPad, books were all of a sudden so much more accessible and within a matter of months, my whole world revolved about this alternate universe where I could escape into a good book. There was a certain period of my teenage years where I was reading one book per day, as well as completing my degree. While other people my age were out drinking in fields, I was at home skyping with international book clubs.

That then spiralled into this site. Through reading and consuming so much content, there was a creative part of my brain which simply ignited. All of a sudden, I wanted to sit down at my laptop and try my hand at producing my own content. That was when the first variation of ‘The Reluctant Blogger’, was born. Since the launch of my first site over 10 years ago, I have delved further into the writing realm by producing content freelance for some of the largest brands in the world. Further broadening my experience with writing.

For a period, I felt like I had producing content for my site and my freelance career down. I had good routines in order to hit all deadlines and it still felt very much like a hobby rather than a job. But there was a part of my brain that felt like there was a creative itch that needed scratching. I wanted to produce something new.

A novel.

Over the next few months, I am going to be sharing more with you about the novel writing process. Things regarding why I decided to do this and how I published the books. For me, this isn’t about becoming the next JK Rowling. This is a creative project that has taught me so much about my own abilities. Not to mention my levels of dedication and overall discipline. Even if I only sell three copies, there aren’t many people out there that can say that they wrote a book in their life!

I will be sharing every single step of this incredibly convoluted and challenging journey with you guys. Let’s just say that it won’t be next week that you see my books on the shelves of the local Waterstones!
